Good morning,

I ended up not being able to sleep so I got in a few extra tests last night. We have a vet visit today for the two week dental checkup, and I plan on talking to her about her suggestion of stopping his Denamarin for a few weeks and then getting bloodwork done to see if his liver levels stay in the normal range without the pills. This should also benefit his numbers because the pill pockets are HC so I have been wanting to get him off of them (I've tried multiple things before without lasting success). Per Stacy's suggestion in yesterdays condo when it comes time for the bloodwork in a few weeks I am going to have them do a full blood panel including his SDMA value. Last time I saw her she said if his numbers aren't improving she wants an ultrasound (previous high liver levels, and I don't think she is used to seeing a cat on this "high" dose of insulin), so I am hoping she will think his numbers are getting better and won't need that.

I hope everyone has a nice day and weekend, vines to all that are going through tough times.

Vetty vines for Shmee!

Yes, that full panel with SDMA gives a lot of information.

I had a drooler with liver issues...I had her on the SAMe for about a year....her liver values went to normal range and her liver went from enlarged to normal size. She had cushings as well but that was well controlled with the required meds. We ended up taking her off the SAMe and her liver was great until the day we had to say goodbye to her.

Sleepless nights are the pits.......but sounds like you made it productive.

My dog, Ricky was on Denamarin and the SAMe for a month or so. When he was first DX with having seizures ,and started the meds for the seizures , then his liver values all looked good and he got off both of those meds. Still takes the anti seizure med. Hopefully, she'll get off too so you won't have to give the HC pill pockets.

Thank you! His vet visit went well, the vet didn't even mention the ultrasound, likes his numbers, and thought going off the Denamarin was a good plan. We are going to do that full panel bloodwork in a few weeks.

PMPS 301 .. so mad at myself, I dozed off and his shot was 30 minutes late. :banghead::(

Question: how exactly do I take him back to 9pm? If I remember correctly it’s 15 minute increments. Do I keep him on each time for two cycles?
