? 05/18 Lisa Going To Work A lot. Need Advice"

Yes, her number do look better on this dose :-)

Is her ear getting better with the Surolan? Hopefully once you finish with it, you can see even more of an improvement in her numbers!

Yes. I am happy to see that her numbers do look a little better on this dose. I was going to ask about those ear drops, too. How long has she been on them? She will not have to take them indefinitely (for a long time) will she? I do know a man who has a diabetic cat that has had ear problems; while his kitty was on ear drops with a steroid in them her numbers were higher. When her ears cleared up her blood glucose numbers improved.

Bhooma, does Lisa need to feed every hour at these high numbers? Isn't that too much food?
I don't think she is feeding every hour through the cycle. With her not being around to test, it is better for her mother to feed Lisa a little every hour in the first half of the cycle to keep Lisa from diving and then bouncing. As of now, it doesn't look like she is going to go anywhere near dangerous numbers.

The idea is to feed smaller meals rather than 1 or 2 large meals. The total quantity would be the same - just spread out to smoothen the curve.

So feed until +6 and then stop?

I need your advice with my schedule. Turns out I will start working on my old job in the weekends too. It is going to be variable, but I may work in all morning or all day. I will be able to shoot am and pm. But in the am my mom will be able to feed but I may not be at home to test at all. How can I manage this?

Are you sure you can't teach your Mom to test? If she were available to test, and follow these post and advice, then you would be so much better off. I do understand if your Mom doesn't want to test. My Mom is 90 and I really don't want her to try to assume responsibility. Your working a lot is not insurmountable. You may have to stay on the conservative side of dosing and make sure you Mom knows how to feed just a little bit during the am cycles. Di, change your thread title to something like this "?, 5/18, Lisa, Going To Work A lot. Need Advice"

my mom was interested in teaching her to test I do not know if she will succeed, she does not see well and she is afraid of blood, if I teach her to do it how many would be the fewest tests she could do? maybe one at +3 and one at +6?thank you

Di, right now Lisa is very high so I would say you don't need a lot of test. You are able to get the AMPS and PMPS test aren't you? They are the most important. You are also on SLGS which means you can't increase the dose for at least a couple more days. Your Mom will need a few more test after any more increases. Will you be working at night, too, or just during the day? I'm not supposed to give dosing advice but I think if your Mom can learn to test, and be comfortable with that, then a +4 might be all that is needed now. Just show her how you do it so she can become comfortable. Does Lisa do well with testing or does she fight you? You need to try to post everyday if you can and copy and paste your previous post to any new post. I'll try to get you some help.
