Hi everyone,

Not much to report here. Still in the pinks and yellows :/ His appetite is great. About five days ago he wasn't all that interested in eating, but switched to his other "go-to" FF flavor and he has been eating fine since. Acting well, playing and lovey. Increasing to 4.75 tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that my vet has said in the past that if the dental doesn't help Shmees BG numbers she is going to want an ultrasound to make sure nothing else is going on. I really, really dread this idea. He does not do well in the car, let alone at the vet. This ultrasound specialist is an hour away, and she said they would have to hold him down during the scan, which could take 30 minutes. I see no plausible way that can happen.

The reason she thinks there might be something else wrong is because his liver levels were originally extremely high. After getting on insulin and 4 weeks of Denamarin (that he is still on), they dropped to normal levels. Everything including labwork is in my SS.

Of course the day I do not test him during the day he gives me a low blue. He was sleeping high up in his "cat walk" area so I didn't want to climb up there.
I'm sure he saw green today and I just missed it. Since he probably did see green, I am going to keep the 4.5 dose for 2 more days.

Looks like he might just need that time to settle into the new dose. Silver does that too.

The rule of thumb here is, if you didn't see it, it didn't happen.;) But with low blues, I'd hold at least 8 cycles.

Any chance the ultrasound could be down with you holding Shmee? I would ask. My current vet encourages that. And uses a travelling ultrasound vet that visits her clinic, so less travel.

Haha really? He nadirs anywhere from +3 to +6, so I'm almost certain he did. I will hold four days though instead of 5 then, and if I see a green myself I will add on a fifth day.

Ok yeah hopefully that would be an option. If she says I need the ultrasound I will definitely be calling the place and talking to them about it.
