Bummer Carla. I mix the 1/2 capsule of each into the 4 feedings of the cycle (I use an autofeeder) so it isn't all in one snack/meal. Is Furball easy to pill? Gizmo is NOT - lol.
I can get a pill down Furball if I need to, but she does fight me a little bit.Bummer Carla. I mix the 1/2 capsule of each into the 4 feedings of the cycle (I use an autofeeder) so it isn't all in one snack/meal. Is Furball easy to pill? Gizmo is NOT - lol.

Thanks for checking in on Furball. I hope things are going well for you and your family and furkids. Happy Mother's Day.Morning Carla
I am so glad that Furball's dental went well. Always a plus.
I wish you much luck with the BG's, insulin, etc. and which ever course you decide to take.
Take care, and Happy Mother's Day to you!
I tried one in the past and didn't have much luck with it. It is easier for me not to use one. I do wrap a little bit of pill pocket around it to help it go down easier.Do you use a pill-pusher? I found that it helped.
Maybe put a wee bit of butter on the pill? It will slide easier and Furball might like the taste.I tried one in the past and didn't have much luck with it. It is easier for me not to use one. I do wrap a little bit of pill pocket around it to help it go down easier.
I managed to get some Gluco Ensure and Pancreas Booster in her this morning.
Thanks Judy. That is a good idea, but I don't keep butter in the house. If I need to use it for cooking, I have to go out and buy it. I don't cook much.Maybe put a wee bit of butter on the pill? It will slide easier and Furball might like the taste.

It looks like I can get a single pen from Rite Aid. It does look like she will need to go back on insulin, but I was encouraged that her PMBG tonight was 208.Were you able to find a place that would sell you a single pen?
Wondering if the polyp could be causing any discomfort to keep numbers elevated? The vet got a good look in the ear she has been having problems with and she said the polyp is coming back. She just wants to watch it for now
Here's to a short time back on the juice. It looks like I can get a single pen from Rite Aid. It does look like she will need to go back on insulin, but I was encouraged that her PMBG tonight was 208.
I think that's a wise decision, Carla. Hopefully with a little support her pancreas will get back on track soon.It looks like I can get a single pen from Rite Aid. It does look like she will need to go back on insulin, but I was encouraged that her PMBG tonight was 208.

I wondered same too, as a possible factor though not necessarily the only factor. Ear polyps, from what I've experienced with civie Spunky, create pressure, discomfort and risk of inflammation/infection when the polyp begins to obstruct the ear canal and block normal drainage. I think of it as something the body is in constant awareness and alert about, perhaps in struggle with when the polyp is trying to expand itself.Wondering if the polyp could be causing any discomfort to keep numbers elevated?
Thanks Sina, but I should be able to get the insulin locally. I appreciate the offer.Carla, I do have a refrigerated cartridge of Lantus that was barely used before Sootie went OTJ. I'm glad to overnight it to you (tips welcome on best way to pack refrigerated) if will help you and Furball.
