It seems like Mom-mom's tooth is bothering her the last few days. That is usually when her sugars run high. She is eating only the Blue Wilderness canned salmon and sometimes duck. And frozen raw chicken treats. I hope the raw chicken treats aren't driving her sugar up. They are the "Basic Instinct" ones. Anyone had any experience with these? The sugars seem to be going up and shes very tired today and doesn't look well. Maybe its the cold/rainy weather??? Although I just gave her a bowl of spring water with ice and she is going to town on it. That sparked her interest

Sorry to hear that Mom-Mom isn't feeling very well today and that her tooth is bothering her. Getting that tooth fixed (pulled?) and getting her on some antibiotics may really help bring her blood sugar numbers down. Have you been able to talk to the vet about getting the tooth pulled?

I haven't ever tried the treats you mentioned. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your questions about that.

Have a good day!

Shelly, I swear its like mom-mom knows when I post something about her, LOL. As soon as I was finished posting, I went back to Petco because I only had Salmon flavor on hand. I bought the duck flavor and she ate almost a half a can and looks 100% better already. I swear she makes a liar out of me  LMAO. Hopefullt, I will be financially able to take her to the vet for the tooth

Hi there..

I hope that you will be able to get Mom-Mom to the vet so that she can see a dentist. Just like in humans, tooth issues in a cat will not resolve on their own. Many, many people on this FDMB board have discovered that once the teeth issues are resolved in their cats that their cat's BG comes way, way down. I think some cats here have even gone into remission after having their mouths properly taken care of.

Maybe there is a vet near you that would be willing to work with you on some sort of a monthly payment plan? There is also always "Care Credit." I believe a lot of vet office's now offer this. If not, you can go to their website and apply. I think that they give you something like 12 months to pay off the bill with ZERO interest, which is really good.

I hope you can get her to the vet soon. :YMPEACE:

BTW- Do you give dose Mom-Mom with flea medicine once per month? confused_cat
