Good Morning LL

Please keep prayers and positive thoughts for Jill and her DGS. The power of this board is amazing.

Hope all kitties and beans that are on the mend are doing better today and will continue to improve.

Ella: Sending sunshine and light winds to your area in hopes your weather woes will subside.

Off to feed the big guys. Have a wonderful day.

Please keep MJ and Butthead in your thoughts and prayers. Send MJ hugs on Buttheads thread... unless there is a more up to date one that I missed:

Jill so glad your DGS is bouncing back and may not need surgery.

Sienne wishing your sister is recovering well and the pain meds are helping.

My friend sent me this picture. It is not of Victoria but sure looks like her. Remember Victoria lost half of her ears to frostbite:

Reading Roni's thread about Moonie and Coppers birthday on their 33rd anniversary also made me think of Maverick.

I found out after he passed that I had his birthday wrong. I always thought it was April. But it turns out I mixed up the months of my dog and Maverick's birthdays. It turns out Maverick's birthday was August 27th. The date of my wedding anniversary also. This was bittersweet to find out that such a meaningful day that was also his birthday. I thought he died close to his birthday (april) but was totally wrong. He was younger than I thought :( But every anniversary will be even more special now.

Jill: I am also very thankful that your DGS is doing so much better and looks like he doesn't need the surgery. Thank Heavens!! Still sending many, many healing vines.

(((MJ))): I know it is hard to keep us updated...the posts must be difficult to write and you are just spending the most time with your sweet boy that you can. But we are sending massive snowflakes and healing vines and also strength vines for you.

Ella: hope things are getting better there.

Karrie: gosh that is amazing that you found out Maverick was born on your anniversary!!! That is bittersweet. I hope Henry and Victoria continue to adjust....esp Henry.

Thinking of all of my Lantus Land friends today... Sienne and her DS, Jill and DGS, MJ and Butthead, Roni and Moonie... thoughts and prayers going out.

Big bummer on the house front. Went and looked at properties today, confirmed that my choice was a good one, decided to put in an offer, andddd....... someone put in an offer last night and the agent received the signed contract and earnest money as my agent was calling to put in my offer. :( This house had been on the market for over almost 9 months, and somebody beats me by less than 24 hours. I saw the house twice to day to make sure I was sure and had really started seeing it as mine. There's still a chance that deal will fall through, but looks like I'm back to square Letting myself be bummed through tonight, and will start fresh in the morning. Things happen for a reason. Either the deal will fall through to my advantage (apparently they do have one of the most anal-retentive and nitpicky inspectors in the whole metro), or it wasn't meant to be. Working on being zen about it all, but am not there yet.

Heading to a cool event here in KC tonight. There is a part of the city near downtown where there are tons of art galleries and studios. On the "First Friday" of every month, they all stay open late and do special events and everyone comes out. Herds of midwesterners in blue jeans perusing art just makes for great people watching! Added bonus... the whole food cart thing is really taking off here, so the local paper has donated their parking lot to bring all of them together in one place for the evening. Meeting up with co-workers to check it out, which will be good for my spirits. I'm sure the alcohol involved will help.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Christie, so sorry about the house. You know what they say, when one door closes, another opens. Of course, I know that doesn't help with the disappointment. I hope all works out for you and the house buying. Enjoy your evening tonight - sounds like fun!

Karrie, what a sweet picture of the kitty. Can't wait to see more pics.

Jill, glad to hear your DGS is getting better.

M.J., sending vines and snowflakes to you and Butthead and hugs. The video of him in the car was so cute!

Has anyone heard from Celia? I may have missed her post, but it seems we had the one post a while ago but none since that time. I hope she's just enjoying all the fre time she has with Binkster being OTJ! I miss her sense of humor and the Binkster and Torties and hearing about all the mischief!

Good news on Jill's DGS. Continued snowflakes, positive vines, healing vines and hope he get better soon.

Ella, how was your day and your cellar? Hope it was warm, sunny and windy to take away some of the ground water.

MJ, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hope Sienne's DS is doing better today.

Yes, Celi where are you? Hope all is well and Binks is doing well with the adopticats.

Christie, We have a saying in our family: "The house you don't buy is the one that won't give you any trouble". It has worked for us, and something better has (almost) always come along.

We actually had sunshine here today, but the cellar is the same. Water (and mud) still coming up from the ground and finding every hole and crack in the floor.

Barbara, do you follow the Kentucky Derby? I heard an interesting interview on NPR today with the woman who trained Seattle Slew. She has loved horses forever, and when, as an 8-year-old she saw Walter Farley's "The Black Stallion" in her elementary school library, she had to read it even though she was very young and the book was intended for older children. She taught herself to read really well because of this book. (It was one of my favorites, too, and I still have it).

Karrie, now your anniversary will be even more special. Great pic of the kitty who looks like Victoria!

We are continuing to think positive thoughts for Jill's DGS, Sienne's DS, and for Butthead. I have also added Rorschach to my list. I hope Roni is OK today.

Celi had to go to Texas on a family matter 2 weeks ago. She came home, but I think she must have gone back again. She hasn't been on the board for at least a week. We all miss her!!

Good evening to you all,

Ella

Hi all.

First of all prayers and thoughts to all those furkids who are under the weather, you all are all always in a big FDMB “package” prayer every night.

So very sorry for dropping away like I did but things here kind of got really critical and needed attention. First of all Buddy seems to be doing well, though his numbers seem to be a little off lately which I suspect maybe the insulin I got when we first started my be going bad. We are using one of the insulin pens that were so kindly donated to us in hopes that it is in good condition. We did also continue to post on his spread sheet though. So to explain, and forgive me if it sounds like a soap opera in drama overdrive.

We ourselves are doing OK but not as good as we like. We recently somehow have developed a problem with our left arm with some pretty serious physical pain and limited movement from time to time. We suspect a pinched nerve or damaged muscle, which is not helping with making checks and shoots. It’s a good thing it is not my right arm having a standard transmission and the job ummm, requires a good right arm. We also are filing bankruptcy which was not an easy choice to make but things just gave us no choice. After six months of a DMP is just started going backwards but we wanted to try first before the BR. Seems that since our job became a fixed income contract it kind of made things go backwards faster that we thought it would. But on a good note if not for YOU Buddy would have been in serious health. We still very, very much appreciate it!

To all of you here on FDMB, I cannot say enough how much you all have helped Buddy and me. I still think I have a way to go before I become a veteran at this but I have learned a lot from you all and I am still learning. Hope to be back on board in a day or so.

Mike and Buddy
