Yesterday morning, I trimmed J.D.'s talons because he kept getting caught on things. He also got a good grooming, since he gets some matting in places he can't reach. J.D. growls for talon trimming and for dematting. When he was done, I let him loose, and fed both cats. J.D. went to eat his food, and Ginger just sat there and kept chewing on her nails, foot after foot after foot. J.D. ate all his food and then ate all Ginger's food, too, because she just kept sitting there tugging on her nails. So, I called her to me, and she got a nail trimming, too. Then she loves to play with her laser light afterwards, because she runs and slides across the carpet so much better when freshly trimmed.
I am scheduled to work today, but because of the holiday, I can stay home and be on-call to come in only if needed. Fingers crossed.
