Well, he only ate about 1/2 his PS food. I am hoping he goes back and finishes it.

I woke up with a migraine - :(

I guess we are having a bad week.

Hope everyone has a better day than mine has started out being. :bighug:
 
Oh Lizzie, I am just catching up with your day yesterday and I can certainly see why you woke up with a migraine! I hope the B-12 helps Gizmo and that you will be able to do them yourself at home to save Gizmo and you all the vet stress. Hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
Oh, Lizzie:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Holding you and sweet Gizmo in thoughts and prayers today , that yesterday was a blip only :bighug::bighug:and that the migraine is long gone :bighug:
 
Vet (hubby of the vet Gizmo usually sees), reviewed the pictures and said that it was NOT the B12 shot. Trying to figure out what to do now.

Another AB shot, labs, urinalysis - Vet only has one appt this afternoon and it interferes with his tfs time. Maybe another AB shot (tech appt only) but then urinalysis might be skued (same with labs). No appt tomorrow AM as he is in surgery all morning.
 
What did vet say if not b12 ??? How is Gizmo doing this AM ?? Hope ur migraine is gone , Lizzie :bighug: Prayers upon prayers :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Who knows - I guess blood but he said that B12 shot wouldn't cause discolored urine or "leak" (I am not convinced, but that is what he is saying).

Worse. Appy is way off, very lethargic. He hasn't moved from his bed since 10:30a (this morning) - 3 hours. I think I am going to go ahead and take him up for the 3:40p appt - have the labs and urinalysis run (again) and hopefully another round of AB (hopefully a shot).
 
I agree with your decision , I would do the same . Peace of mind for you as well, especially since he’s a bit “ off”and schedule of vet is such as it is . Praying vet easily discovers what is going on and it’s simple to remedy . You and sweet Gizmo have been thru enuf :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I’m so sorry, Lizzie, but I do think it’s best that he is seen by a vet sooner than later. Vetty and healing vines to gizmo and go away migraine vines to you. I hope tomorrow is so much better for you both. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Lizzie! I read yesterday's post and then this one. HUGE hugs of support to you and Gizmo!!!!!! I can well understand how worried you are... :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
Ok, back from the vet. Sooo glad I went. Urine is bright pink (from urinalysis). The US that they did to get the urine showed two blood clots. No growths, no stones - just blood clots. Don't know why - vet had no answers but is hopeful that the BW and U will show something. Gave another Convinea shot.

And I think I got fired by the vet office - they are referring me to an internist.

I am exhausted. I haven't eaten all day - Gizmo did though - he ate (eventually) all wet but didn't eat the YA at +6.5. He did wolf down the PS food.

I gave shot @ ~4:30p (normal time) at the vets office - he was having a fit that I wasn't feeding him before I gave him the shot :rolleyes:. I told him I have to stay on schedule with his shot - and I would feed as soon as I got home. I like his wife much better - lol.

So PS # is 30 min "late" and after I actually gave his shot.

Oh Lizzie - well, it's good to know re: the Urine. Phew! I hope that that clears up shortly. Fingers crossed that you get only good news!

I hope you're able to eat something and get some rest for yourself. The past few days just sound really, really too exhausting. Take care of yourself, Lizzie!! :bighug:

Thank you. Yes. It is also reassuring that I am not crazy. I knew something was wrong.

No, they fired me. Lol. Too complicated, too many issues (condensed version). They are going to send over the US pictures and discuss the labs/urinalysis with IM tomorrow. Basically, don't call us, we'll call you.

So sorry your vet broke up with you, :rolleyes: but I hope the IM is much better and can help you figure things out for Gizmo. I’m glad you got to go today, I’m sure you’ll sleep a little easier tonight. Try to do something nice for yourself and watch a movie that makes you pee your pants laughing. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I got the same from the vet that replaced our good vet that went on maternity. In the end, it was nice going to someone that wanted to help. He ended up being really good about what I was saying and my questions.

The vet tech showed me the U/S pictures and the urine sample. The clots (2 that they saw) were small. One very small and another slightly larger.

Going to skip the +2 test tonight and have hubby test @ +4 and make sure he eats and am going to try to get to bed very early. I have to give bp meds in a bit and will give some pain meds also.
 
When my vet broke up with me, it was the best thing that could have happened to Rufus and I. Sure, the IM is a little farther, and a tad more expensive, but much much more knowledgeable. Good luck :)
 
Sending all good thoughts for tomorrow's appt. with the IM vet. We have been to an IM vet 4 times over the years and each one was excellent. I do so hope that Gizmo will be fine and that a course of action will be begun.
Hope your migraine is better. They can be so debilitating. Drink coffee!
