Ginger is doing fine. We finally had some spring like weather today, and she is enjoying some time outdoors.

She has gained a little more weight (11lbs 3oz this morning) and does not have a ravenous appetite, but is eating most of the flavors I put before her. Yay. So, I think she may not have hyperT, but that T4 number of 2.9 haunts me as well as the vet saying she thinks she will go that way. I think I'm pretty concerned just from being a worrier.

I don't know how I got this shot, but she often takes food out of her bowl and carries it to a different place to eat it, and Jackson is starting to do it sometimes too.

Ginger still beats up Jackson pretty hard, but maybe it's just to show him who is The Queen. I do see them sleeping within inches of each other, and they did touch noses today, while out on a walk.

Jackson is weighing in at 8 pounds 4 ounces today, and is maturing a little bit. In that, I mean he is not playing as hard and running at 40 miles per hour, but seems to be settling down a bit and learning things.

Jackson still likes laying in Ginger's blankey.

And Ginger likes laying in her furs.

Sometimes he looks so big and long,

but then he transforms to still a kitten.
Jackson%20on%20Big%20Lawn19_zpsocywzrui.jpg

He can eat 1/2 can of FF in 6 seconds flat, just like J.D. could.
He really is a good boy, and I find joy and am proud of his learning.

I am still getting over the passing of J.D., but am doing a little itty bitty better every week, I guess. It was 5 months yesterday, and my vet said on that day that it could take 6 months or longer. At least I have my two kitties to bring me smiles. I still miss J.D.'s cuddling and warmth and purrs when I go to sleep at night though. They just don't quite take J.D.'s place, but they are there and keep me going.

Dyana, the pictures of Ginger and Jackson are wonderful. I hope Ginger is and will continue to be just fine. Jackson has really grown. J.D. is smiling down on his family.
Have a great weekend,

Hugs and scritches,
Ella & Rusty

{{{Dyana}}} Thanks for sharing the photos of your beautiful babies. Jackson looks so big now in that photo of him beside Ginger. I love that stage when they are still part kitten but also partly grown up. J.D. must be so proud of him.

What wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing. Ginger is looking gorgeous (and very royal on her furs) and Jackson is simply adorable.

Don't worry too much about the HyperT. Even if Ginger does end up with it, it is so much easier to deal with than FD (and less expensive, too!).

There is no timetable for grief. You deal with it your own way, and from what I've seen, you're doing pretty well, all things considered. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Dyana,
Thanks for sharing those adorable pictures.! Jackson is growing so big and Ginger is beautiful!
These pictures of the both of them make me smile.
Tricia is right. HyperT is a lot easier than FD.
Try not to worry about Ginger. My first cat,Tigra, (may she rest in peace) had hyperT. I pilled her for five years and she was fine. She went to the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 19 1/2yrs.
I'm glad you are feeling a little better each day, J.D. is so proud and watching over all of you.

Great pics.
funny on the carrying food elsewhere to eat.... like taking your prey with you....
guess that makes it fast food..... :joyful:

I agree there is no time table... each bean is different. I grieved hard for 2 years for my first pet loss.

(((Dyana)))))
I LOVE your pictures! I think my favorite is Ginger in the yard. Her tail is up and huge! She looks like one very happy kitty. Jackson is just adorable. He has such a sweet face. Makes me want to snuggle him all up.
I'm glad Ginger and Jackson make you smile. I know J.D. is watching over all of you, sending you all his love .
Take good care of all of you
Xoxo Mary and Ollie

What a great post, Dyana. Ginger is a most beautiful girl! Love her coppers. So vibrant. And that floofed upright tail. Swoon.

I'm so glad Jackson choose you and Ginger for his family, with a little help from a certain J.D. What a darling boy. Cute, handsome, kitten, cat...all rolled in to one pretty snappy package. Makes me smile.

J.D.'s smiling too, you know.

Marilyn and Polly

Dyana,

I have been waiting for pictures of Ginger and Jackson. Those are lovely. Jackson looks like he is getting used to walking on his leash and really enjoying himself. Ginger is beautiful as always. Such a good girl to not even need a leash. Very good picture of J.D. with a nanner as well. I look forward to many more pictures of them as the weather warms up. Hope all is going well.

Terri

I love the pictures. I'm glad Ginger and Jackson are doing so well and helping you deal with missing J.D. It takes time and no one can tell you when you should be done grieving. J.D. will always be with you in your heart. :bighug::bighug:

Dyana, all of those pictures brought tears to my eyes too, but in a good way! Your two babies are absolutely adorable--I especially love the one with Jackson in his pink blanky!:smuggrin: He does have that awkward long, thin body (and tail )of a teenaged boy doesn't he? :p Ginger is gorgeous as well- glad to hear she is still the alpha cat in the HH! No doubt you still feel heartache with the loss of JD, but it looks like these two are working on new cat sized holes in your heart as well, that's their job! :bighug::bighug:
