Evening. So I've stuck with the SLGS protocol and am lowering the dose by 0.25 each time Bambi's nadir falls under 90. There have been reductions 2 days in a row and she's dropped from 1u to 0.25u in the past 5 days. I guess the quick reduction is causing a bounce going from an 83 nadir all the way up to 383 today.

Since she's at the lowest dose, I wanted to check if I'm proceeding correctly? Also, what happens after this if she keeps falling? In Turkey, I'm unable to find 3/10 cc syringes unfortunately and I could only find 0.5 cc syringes which I'm using right now. It looks impossible to measure 0.1u. Is there any way I could measure this with a 0.5 cc syringe, or a special technique?

Btw, tomorrow I'm fully transitioning to 100% low-carb wet food (3 pouches of 85g per day in 3-4 servings) - (The packet recommends 3-4 pouches for a 4 kg average cat and Bambi is 3.7 kg)
 
You are right, when following SLGS you reduce immediately if they go under 90. Bounces aren't caused by reductions, but rather the lower number that Bambi isn't used to when she earned the reduction. The good news is that she seems to be getting over bounces fairly quickly.

You will now hold the 0.25 unit dose for 7 days, unless she goes under 90 again. At that point, we do use the 0.1 unit dose. One way to measure the smaller doses is by counting drops. Take a used syringe and fill it to 1.0 units with some coloured, like tea, juice, pop. Twist the plunger to get a drop out. Keep trying to get drops out and getting them to be a consistent size. Once you can do that, fill the syringe to 1.0 units again, and try counting the number of drops you get in either 1.0 units or 0.5 units. If you count 1 from one unit, then 1/10th of those would be 0.1 unit. You can fill the syringe to 1.0 unit with insulin, and take out 9/10 of the drops. Or if you fill to 0.5 units, take out 4/5 of the drops.
 
Congrats on the reduction. Let’s see if getting rid of the dry will work with the new dose. Good job with that. If not you will now have the option of switching to TR IF you want.

Thank you. Yes, I'm also quite curious. I was just reading over TR when you sent the post :) I will ask for advice if it gets to that.
