04/15 Vyktor OTJ Trial Day 7 AMBG 104 PMBG 74 - pic

Halfway there but it seems Vyktor thought the trial went for 14 cycles not 14 days because he was unusually resistant to testing this morning :smile:

I was going through his photos last night and I remembered that after his dental I had promised a top view photo of the special haircut he had to remove the dreadlocks/matts from his hips and I don't think that I ever delivered so here he is with his very slimming do...



His fur still hasn't grown back completely from his ultrasound (which was more than three months ago) or his dental and some of the fur in both places is growing back like it's been permed. It's amazing that after 15 1/2 years he can still find new ways to be adorable!

Sending healing vines to DC, Atlas, Rusty and any other kitty that needs them and strength to their beans.

They always look soooo skinny and small when they're shaved down, don't they? Trix had an ultrasound when she was first diagnosed over a year ago, and her belly fur is STIILL growing back. Right now, her belly looks like a little old man's head :lol: ! Our vet said the slow re-growth is related to the diabetes. Vyktor is so handsome, no matter how much fur he does or doesn't have!!

You asked about hometesting a diabetic dog on our condo. With dogs it is done on the inside of the lip :shock: instead of the ear. http://www.sugarcats.net/sites/harry/lipprick.html#anchor17927 I was weirded out by that, but it didn't seem to bother Blue-man at all!

Youre almost there Vyktors! Be patient with the testing!
Its always funny how they all will struggle the testing when they "think" there are healed already! :lol: Rosy always gives me that "Im in a hypo" act when asking for more food !

Re - testing dog...neither of my dogs that I tested on their lip even flinched. It was easier than cats!

I love the pic, we had Daphne shaved about 2 years ago, she was so matted, and it happened so fast. She hates to be combed past her waist.

Vyktor's haircut is unique and adorable, so it suits him. Seems as though he might get cold in the winter, though, without fur on his hips. Perhaps he needs a little sweater. In blue, of course.

That's the exact place Racci never lets me brush also. She gets the same shave down the back legs too and the butt and a belly trim to keep the fur from taking the litter with her when she leaves the box. :lol: He looks so cute!

It's okay, Vyktor, Atticus still hasn't grown back all his hair on his back legs from the blood draws they did at the vet in December and January. I didn't realize it was related to diabetes, but that makes sense. And it's coming back all soft and downy, like a lamb.
