04/10 - Alex - Oldtimer's Caturday Update

just a quick update of the last week...
--- 5 out of the last 7 days have been good. :thumbup
--- vet visit is planned for this coming tuesday to recheck blood work and to do another ultrasound. :thumbup
--- alex is eating on her own! :thumbup
--- i've been using dry food sprinkled on her wet to entice her to eat. i think it's back-fired on me. she's hungry. wants to eat, but she'll wait for me to sprinkle a few pieces of kibble on her food! if i don't, she'll sniff, give me a dirty look, and then walk away. to make matters worse... so do my other 3 kitties! :-Q
--- she's down to one pill a day. getting that denamarin pill in her has become much easier. :thumbup
--- we've reduced squids spiked with vitamin B and B complex to 100ml a day. she's happy about that! :thumbup
--- bg numbers aren't too bad (60-180), but could be better. we're working on that. :thumbup

overall, she's a lot better. we'll know more when we get the results of the blood work next wednesday.

WCR: snuggly, inquisitive, playful, and content. the 5 p's are all in place. :thumbup

This is such GREAT news! What a smile it brought across my face! :mrgreen: So many :thumbup is awesome!

I just had to comment because Latte does the same thing. I sprinkle treats...the latest is a glucosamine treat. But she will stand there and wait...not for one, but two. It has to be TWO treats every time I want her to put her face in the bowl. When she is done, she walks a few steps away from the bowl and stares at me until I say "good job Latte!" with my cheeriest voice and thumbs up! :lol: Yes, they have us trained.

Im rootin' for Alex to have millions more good days! Nice Job taking care of her, Jill!

Hi Jill-

Yay! I'm glad your fur kid is doing well! And boy, do I know about "sprinkles" - I call them add-ons. Boomer always needs an add-on to get him through the entire meal. Thank god I found nurtitional yeast flakes. It's good for him (B vitamins) and he loves the taste. That's the add-on I use the most. I also turn to forti-flora, crushed up freeze-dried chicken and parmesan cheese.

I'm very happy she's doing better. I like the spot/freckle on her nose, btw.

What a wonderful, report!! Alex is soooooo blessed to have you... you are an angel!! I am just thrilled to hear that her health is improving, it is so upsetting to say the very least when things are out of sorts with them. I am praying for you & her that the Vet Visit on Tuesday goes well.

I was able to trick Mickey into thinking they were kibble. If I had any left I would send you some to try, but Lucy ate them all.

What a relief that Alex is getting back to Alex again. So glad to hear that she's eating, even if she tricked you into the sprinkles.
