Slept through the whole night for the first time since December - it was bliss not to have those alarm beeps throwing me out of bed! It was quite strange last night, my body seemed to know it was okay to relax and I fell asleep on the couch for a while before I could even get to bed - guess I've got some catching up to do :lol:

No greenie for Vyktor this morning but he's still in the normal cat range so I'm not worried at all (ok so I'm a liar nailbite_smile I think it will be quite a while before I stop worrying!). His food bowl was empty this morning so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try the food test but he hasn't been so obliging. I gave him about 50g/1.7oz of food and he ate a little at test time, 6.30am, about half by 7am and then by 8am only had about 15g/0.5oz left so he's made it a bit hard for me to know when the 3 hr mark is :roll:

I'm thinking I will give no more food (I have left the little bit that is still there) until I test at 10am and then (assuming no green) again at 11am - sound reasonable?

Going to do the rabbit run now, back for more visits later.

It must have felt strange to sleep for a change. :lol: Did Vyktor try to wake you for tests? When I decide to not do as many for a couple of days, Racci comes to me to tell me it's time.

115 with no juice is fine, for the first test of the day especially. You know that's usually the highest. I htink he'll be in the greens for most of the day until tonight when it's natural to go up again.

Good luck! I think he'll do just fine though.

Happy Day 1!!! Yay for sleeping!!!

I made the salad tonight, with a few minor tweaks (I'm allergic to cashews so I used almonds; I had pumpkin seeds on hand instead of sunflower seeds)...yum!!!

And we have green :mrgreen: I guess we could still be having a little shed action but it looks like Mr P dealt with breakfast just fine :mrgreen:

Vyktor has in the past indicated it is time for a test but not last night, I think he is a very smart pussy cat and he's got the connection between the injections and the tests ;-)

When your trial is done, how about sending Vyktor for a visit with Bailey? He can show her how it's done! :lol:

I was away for a few days and look who's on an OTJ trial -- hooray Vyktor!!!! I'm so happy for you, Serryn! All fingers and paws crossed for a successful trial. :YMHUG:

So we're out of the 'normal cat' range tonight, my questions are

- should I still be withholding food for 2 hrs before I test? I haven't done, he ate about 0.9oz of LC wet food half an hour prior to the PMBG
- is there a specific cut off number for test failed? I have 200 in my head for some reason but I'm not not sure why.
- should I be devastated already or can this just be his pancreas settling down?

Serryn, I'm so excited for you! That is probably food spike if you tested just a half hour after food, but wait and see what others have to say.
Maggie says Vyktor is doing great and had a wonderful time at the party. Thank you for that sweet pic!

I wouldn't get too upset yet. Simon's bg's are always higher after he eats, up to 2 hours after. So I'm thinking the 142 may be a food spike.

Come on Vyktor. You can do it!! :mrgreen:

Can't wait to see how he's doing at your AMPS. I'm happy he's getting a shot at a trial, and that green was very pretty today! Try to relax--at least you are getting a full night's sleep!

Hopefully it's a food spike, but never having done an OTJ trial, I don't know for sure. Enjoy the sleep!!!
 
Looks like you guys were right and I was starting to panic a little early :oops:

I thought that 120 was the upper limit for a 'normal cat' even with a food spike. I will enjoy another nights solid sleep tonight but will take his food away 2 hours before testing his PMBG tomorrow.

I have been on tenterhooks for the past three hours and feel pretty wiped out so I won't come visiting now. Going to have a drink and watch TV for an hour to try and turn my brain off before bed. I am back at work tomorrow as well so I won't have too much time in my morning (your night) so I'll see you guys tomorrow. Thanks so much for the encouragment :smile:
 
Hi guys .. oh man, I didn't even realize an OTJ was started! How exciting! Look how nicely vyktor came down at +3 .. he says, ma! Relax!! :-D
