Last Night:
222 PMPS
198 +4.5
261 +10.5

I woke up to an empty bed. Both kitties were sleeping in the living room when I got up. I guess I was tossing and turning too much.

J.D. some of his 1st Breffis with Miralax. We have to go to work today. I'll bring the R in case he keeps rising, but I hope he eats well at work if I use it.

The mare I've been watching at New Bolton foaled last night. Of course I missed it, but he's less than a day old.

Re: 03/30 J.D. AMPS 328

J.D.'s numbers looked a lot better yesterday - no reds or blacks. I'm hoping that's a great sign of better things to come!

Sorry you missed the birth. Have they already named him?

Hope you have a great day at work!
Shelly

Re: 03/30 J.D. AMPS 328, +1 404

I gave him a small drop of R. I hope he eats at work. I grabbed my cypro and a can of MC.

Shelly, they have 8 names that they are going to do a vote on. I think they should name him Kathleen after my Sister, but he's a boy.

Off to quickly get ready for tbp.. ug.

Morning, Dyana ~O)

Hoping that J.D. gives you a lovely surf today. I'm glad to hear that there is a baby to be named. How exciting! :-D Have a great day, guys!

Sending appy vines for J.D. Hope your day goes quickly, and J.D. brings his numbers down safely

Re: 03/30 J.D. AMPS 328, +1 404

I hope the R brings JD down slowly and you two have a peaceful day at work.

How exciting that the colt was born!!! I'm also so glad you got out yesterday for your ride to honor Kathy. (((Dyana)))

Re: 03/30 J.D. AMPS 328, +1 404

aw, that sweet little one is all legs, isn't he!?!

good choice on the R, that'll hopefully keep him from going any higher. none of this cliff-jumping, jd! cat_pet_icon

If you have another opportunity, I'm thinking perhaps giving him the R when he is rising and hits 300 would be something to try. just a thought for you to add to the pile! :-D

Re: 03/30 J.D. +11 68, PMPS 114

J.D.'s Day:

328 AMPS
404 +1 (a small drop of R)
290 +2.5 at work, gave MC
279 +3.5 ate LC mixed with MC
189 +5
138 +6
124 +7
98 +8
84 +9
72 +10
68 +11

He ate little bits until about +7 or so, that I noticed (and got some Greenies treats here and there for testing treats).
I left late and had to stop for gasoline, so get home at +12.25. J.D. ate Ginger's leftovers before I tested and shot.

So, what if he is in the 300s at +3, still give R?

Re: 03/30 J.D. +11 68, PMPS 114

I'm glad you got out for your ride yesterday. I've been thinking about you.

It looks like the R did its job.

It looks like the R did its job. I'd be concerned about giving R at +3. You could end up with overlapping nadirs.

Re: 03/30 J.D. +11 68, PMPS 114

I know. I just thought once he's up he may continue. If he goes up, I'll wait until he's about 400, I guess.

It had been years since I rode, and I was a bit weak on my legs when I got off  and my butt hurt for a day
I could so easily do that more often <3

J.D.'s an eating machine since we got home.

It has been like summer here for the past two days with constant rain. I am already counting the days until next winter and hope it's another good one...ducks & runs.

Re: 03/30 J.D. +11 68, PMPS 114

great response to the R today. i wouldn't give it at 300 unless it looked like he was on his way higher - like if he bounces from today and it looks like he's zooming up, for example.

the difference in my thinking, is that you don't want to wait and give it when he's at 300 and going down.

sometimes it helps me to speak in illustrations, so maybe this will help. i think of him as climbing up a mountain when his numbers are rising quickly. when we give R at the top, say 500, it's like it pushes him off the cliff and he goes flying down very fast.

what seems safer to me, would be to give the R when he's still on his way uphill. he's got the momentum of the hormones and stored sugars behind him pushing him up, but the R would apply a counter to that, like adding 100lbs onto him so he can't climb as high. ideally, it would just hold him flatter or knock his numbers down a little bit. what i've always been told is that we just want R to pull down about 100points so that the Lev can do its job.

what i wouldn't do is give it at a 300 when he's looking like he's already plateaued. then it would be more like he's on the top and it would push him off the edge. he is so responsive to it, i see exactly why you have reserved it for higher numbers. so i would try to prevent those high numbers when it looked clearly to me that he was getting ready to zoom up.

not sure if that makes sense. what do you think?

Re: 03/30 J.D. +11 68, PMPS 114

i should add that because of how responsive he is, i wouldn't do it when you weren't able to monitor him. it might be that you can make some progress just doing this on the days you're home or have him at work with you. if he didn't go as high, he wouldn't have as far to fall. interrupting that cycle is what i'm thinking would bring his whole range of numbers down.

Thanks Julie.
I was concerned when his +2 was 282, and when I woke up at +5 I was afraid to test. I'm glad he came back down.

I understand your way of thinking. It's just that when I see him so high day after day when I get home from work, that I get worried.

Today, I figured that I get Saturdays off and every other Monday off and he's with me on Sundays, so essentially I can test him during the day 10 days out of 28 (that's more than 1/3 of the days). Not every 3rd day, but maybe it's even better this way. I'll keep trying.. of course.

Back to deep sleep for me
