Last Night:
HI PMPS (small drop of R)
241 +3
198 +8

I fell into a deep sleep when I hit the bed and just never woke up to any alarms for any tests after that +3. I wanted to say I slept like a log, but I guess I woke up at 2:00am for that +8.

J.D. ate most of his 1st Dinner last night and then didn't want any more of that flavor at +3. I smooshed some crumpled Temptations into his food and he ate some more. Then I smooshed some EVO dry kibbles into his food and he ate the rest. I know maybe I should have tried another flavor or maybe even MC, but I didn't  . He finished the plate of food and I went to bed.

This morning, J.D. has eaten some of his 1st Breffis so far.
I'll keep working on him to eat more, until I have to leave in an hour.

Thanks for the support and advice last night. I will try using R more when I am home. But, that's what I did last night because I was home, and he dived :-| Okay (thinking out loud here), I'll try using R more when I am home during the day. I have thought about trying Lantus again, even for one pen, just to see what he does.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Healing vines being sent to all who need them. My thoughts are with Betty and Hank today.

I hope you can get J.D. to eat more for you this morning before you have to leave. I hope he slides down slowly today.

Re: 03/28 J.D. AMPS 369

Morning Dyana,

Good appy vines for J.D. Hope he slides some, then surfs today

Your body was telling you that you needed that sleep - I love how you can sleep test :-D :-D

TGIF!

Re: 03/28 J.D. AMPS 369

Thanks. He ate pretty good this morning.

I'm late, gotta get ready for tbp.

Have a good day.

Re: 03/28 J.D. AMPS 369

Sending good appy vines for J.D.

Sometimes you just gotta do what the body tells you. You can't take care of your kitties if you're not well yourself.

Hope you have a great Friday, Dyana!

Re: 03/28 J.D. AMPS 369

hi dyana! sorry that i keep thinking he's on Lantus! i saw Wendy said it last night and somehow every time i look at his ss i think "Lantus!"

I also saw your comment about already using R - i think shifting to thinking your goal is to prevent a bounce instead of taking him out of the high zone might be helpful. perhaps - one of those things you'll have to try to see if it works.

one more thought, which would be impossible to do during your regular work week, but if you had a chunk of time maybe you could try, would be to shoot earlier to try to get some overlap in on his cycles. perhaps trying to shoot at +10 when you see a rise starting. the trick there is what time you would then shoot later - it could wrap around the clock and make it really hard for you to sleep or work. but like using the R on a rising bounce, doing it a few times might be enough to cut off his highs. i think if you could keep him from zooming up he wouldn't have anywhere to plummet to and it might help reduce (eliminate?) his zooming up and down.

not sure if that makes sense, but you can think about it.

Re: 03/28 J.D. PMPS 398

Thanks Julie. I know sometimes he acts like he is on Lantus the way he comes down so fast sometimes even without R.

He is 398 at +12.5 (when I got home from work). I am going to take the kittys for a walk, and if he is still rising at +1, then I'll give him some R. I never can catch a rise in BGs during my work day. I do have tomorrow off, and Sunday J.D. comes to work with me, and Monday I have off, so I will try. It's just that I can't get a smaller drop of R than I am already giving, right? I put the empty syringe with the plunger held in tightly into the vial and let the plunger go once the needle is inserted. I don't know how I would get a smaller drop than that.

Off to walk the cats

Re: 03/28 J.D. PMPS 398, +1 481

I gave him the small drop of R. With this syringe, the drop seemed smaller (I tested it twice first), so maybe he won't dive.
Off to the store. He's eating FF Shrimp & Fish Feast which is 0 carbs.

looks like he's diving - darn.

what do you think about giving the R, then 30, 60, 90 minutes later give him carbs to keep the drop from going too fast? i wonder if that would still allow him to come down but not so fast that he bounces from it.

i saw on your ss that you have those 3 days where he'd be with you. seems like a great time to try out something.

you've got the smallest dose that i know of. unless it can be diluted.
