Good Morning!! I overslept AGAIN. :o I am so mad at myself.
gaah.gif
This is becoming a weekend habit. I woke up a few minutes past +13.25 and tested and shot a.s.a.p.
He is fine. Very hungry when I woke up. Well, how come HE didn't wake me up at breakfast time? My cats ate all their food and are following me around for more because it's their 2nd breakfast time already.
He was 325 at +8. I'm happy he has come down for his late AMPS.

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192 (at +13.25)

Ahhh sleeping in on the weekend. Remember what fun that used to be? I'm starting to gorget already and we've hardly even begun this journey. @-) <---- that's kinda how I felt when I climbed our of bed at 10 minutes to 6 this morning. My kitties DID wake me up for breffis though. They'd eaten all of what was left out overnight and it was past time for their boy to get up for school (a few of them don't understand weekends) so when they couldn't get him to get up (I think he threw something, I hope it wasn't Echo  ) They came and started on me. It starts with the purring in my face and gradually progresses to a parade of cats walking over me. Echo I can ignore, but the rest could break a bone or in Tugger's case cause internal injuries ;) So I got up. Cuz, *I'm* the boss in this house and *I* decided it was time to get up and feed them breffis

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192 (at +13.25)

I was reading this and had to laugh since Do Lou seems to know his lantus schedule I have my alarm set but he almost always gets me up about 20 min before he is due his morning shot there have been a few days when he felt bad he did not do this and the alarm was what woke me up but almost every day since we got into a routine he has somehow known when to get me up cats are so smart. And I so miss sleeping in since once I am up I have trouble going bk to sleep. Hope J. D. has a good day

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192 (at +13.25)

I'm like that too. It's worse if the sun is up, even the littlest bit of natural light and I can NOT go back to sleep, unless I'm on death's door or I've been up all night. I envy all the folks who can get up, test, feed, shoot and go btb and actually sleep. Though if Tugger keeps making me get up at +6 (or more!) I might have to try to figure out a way to make btb work lol.

JD you should come visit Tugger in the blues, he seems to think there's fun to be had there =)

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152

Second breakfast served.

I never used to sleep in. I never used to use an alarm clock. I would just wake up automatically at the time I had to.
Now that I feel I am sleep deprived from getting up in the middle of the night, it's a different story. I was having a problem when I got up at +6 or whatever to test, in going back to sleep. I found that if I turned on the computer and posted, and then posted to a couple other condos, I would be up for about 30 minutes on the computer, and it would take me another at least an hour to go back to sleep. Now, I get up in the middle of the night, turn on the lights, test, turn off the lights, and go directly back to bed. It's these weekend mornings, that I'm recently having a problem with. I just set up a second alarm clock across the room from my bed, hopefully that will help.

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152

Morning....now what? Nice numbers for J.D. though.
Does this throw you all off schedule? You must have been very tired kiddo....you need your rest....
I got in the habit of taking power naps over the past few years....I would set my alarm and nap. I could never do that in the past. So, my body got used to doing the power napping thing. I can get up and test and go right back to sleep. Guess it became a habit for me and it works now.....
the second alarm is a great idea....you really do have to catch up on your own sleep so that's what happened this morning, right? Hope you have a great day!

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152

I learned that lesson pretty quickly too so the past couple of nights I've been just testing and writing it down on a piece of paper that I leave on the kb when I shut the laptop, then it's there to remind me when I open it up for the day.

It's pretty easy to just shut that alarm off and roll back over huh? Hopefully the second alarm will help =) I was considering using the phone and leaving it on the dresser so I'd have to get out of bed to shut it up.

Maybe you can fit in a nap later today =) Weekends are awesome for napping imo. Oh, who am I kidding, any day is good for napping!

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152, +3 133

My cats forced me to get dressed and go outside with them. We (the condo association) have about an acre of grass that gently slopes down hill. I walk to the far end of it, and Ginger loves to run full speed like a cheetah to me. Normally, J.D. just walks everywhere. This morning, J.D. did an extended trot to me, and on the way back up the hill broke from a trot to a rolling gallop. He feels good.

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152, +3 133

Yay for J.D. trotting and for dropping nicely exactly on the day his Mama wants him to!

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152, +3 133

It's so wonderful to see them feeling good =) Tugger has been acting like a whole new cat the past week or two. It makes me smile

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, PMPS 446

I shot his PM dose at +11. He was 375 at +8, so I knew I was going to be able to catch up on my messed up schedule from this morning.

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, PMPS 446, +2 359

Sometimes, Dyana, sleeping is a very good thing. And since you've gotten back to the normal shot schedule, I think it's probably a no-harm, no-foul thing. And to hear about extended trots and gallops is so cute...I can so see cats doing that! LOL. (BTW, the alarm clock across the room does not do it for me...I have three alarms and an auto coffee maker. That helps.)

Hope you have a better evening.

Best-
Michele

What are those PM numbers all about? It's great to hear about J.D. and Ginger having fun outside.

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, +1.5 152, +3 133

Hi! You must be really tired. Getting up in the middle of the night is really exhausting. There have been a few nights in the past few weeks where I probably should have gotten up to test, but I couldn't drag myself out of bed. I love low PM numbers, but sometimes it's nice to see numbers that I know won't go too low.

Love the image of Ginger running like a cheetah to you. But love the image of J.D. doing an extended trot even more!!! So glad he feels good! :RAHCAT Glad you were able to get back on schedule, too!

Try not to be so hard on yourself, you're really doing great with JD.

My vet originally told me I had a two hour window either way, which we don't follow in LL but sometimes the schedule will slip a little. You'll get him back on track.

Re: 03/27 J.D. AMPS 192, PMPS 446, +2 359

Sounds like JD was very tolerant of your late awakening.

Do you have a cell phone with an alarm? Or an annoying one that you cant hit a snooze button?

I use my cell phone and set 8 alarms, all within 5 minutes of each other!

You could always do the carolyn/big mac, or Pat/Shadow trick...drink a big glass of water after your middle of the night check.

Sounds like despite a discombobulated start, you all had a beautiful day!

Re: 03/27 J.D. PMPS 446, +2 359, +3 329

I have been using my cell phone as an alarm. It rings like 7 times every 5 minutes. And, it is always set for +11 and +12, but I guess I must have gotten used to the noise, or add the ringing noise to my dreams on weekend mornings  .
The one I set across the room makes a terrible obnoxious buzzing sound. Just try putting that in my dreams.
Ginger is beautiful when she runs. She either halls a$$ all stretched out like a cheetah and goes 40 miles an hour, or she looks like she's merrily skipping as she hops a little in the air when she changes leads every couple of strides and holds her tail up and all bushy. She also has a gorgeous hackney pony type of trot sometimes when walked on a leash.
J.D. gets lots of praise when he trots or gallops, as he doesn't do it very often.
He's laying on the chair next to me right now with a smile on his face.

Re: 03/27 J.D. +3 329, +4 256

That's a big ole drop in an hour. I was almost ready to go to bed. The only reason I tested him was because he jumped up on the couch (the testing place). And, he didn't get any R tonight. Well, ni~ni, for now.
