Ok, need advise for adding higher carb food to feeder. I am going to get a +1 (or sooner if you think it will help) so we will know a bit more before the +2 (which is when I leave).

How much? I think he is probably going to start coming up BUT, I have to make sure he is safe. I am thinking 1 tablespoon after +2 test and then another small tablespoon to his +2.5 (30 min after I leave). I can also add some to the +4.5 if you think that is necessary.

Are you mixing the HC with the LC or just giving LC? If you are adding the HC to his regular LC meals, I think you have a good plan. I think I'd add it to the +4.5 just to be safe.

I was going to add HC to his regular LC snacks. So you think only add to the +4.5?

I have already taken Xanax- lol. If this doesn't kill me first, maybe I can get him regulated or otj, but I may not survive :bighug:. :D

Going to hold off on any food and see what he is @ +2. 67 is still safe.

I just called boss. Told him I would be in as soon as I could. Now that I have given HC food the numbers will be influenced by the food. So I won't know what he is truly doing. That is why I waited until +2. I was really hoping he would start coming up on his own.

This is uncharted territory for us so I really don't know what to do. Retesting @+2.5 (20 min).
 
Well, there was no choice but to give him some HC if he throws you a 44 at +2!

I was looking at his spreadsheet for clues, and as you say, these kinds of numbers are so recent for him it's tough to predict where he's going to go from here. Wish I could offer more help.

Up, Gizmo, now!!!!! Make it really convincing, so we know it's not just food bump but maybe the start of a rebound from that 44!
 
Yes, that is a reduction to 1.25.
I think you may be awhile before you can leave for work, unless you can take him with you.

That is kinda what I was thinking. Then add some HC to the +4.5 snack and the +6.5.

His nadir is usually at +5.5 - but who knows with this cycle and these new numbers
 
+5=58 2 tablespoons HC (straight - no LC)

Added 2 tablespoons to his +4.5 snacks also.

+6.5 has HC added to the LC also.
 
Sheesh Liz, he just wont give you a break. Good to see the reductions and nice numbers, but I know how tiring and stressful that can get. Let's settle down a bit and keep things reasonable there Gizmo.
 
Thanks all. I am just keeping the end results in mind. I can keep going - I hope :p. I love the momentum. I am hoping for OTJ - but will take regulation if that is all I can get.

Poor Gizmo though - he just doesn't know what his body is doing. He doesn't know if he should feel good or bad. It's like he really wants to feel good but he doesn't. He is tired and I am sure a little sore. I broke down and gave him a Canna last night and he slept hard - I assume that is a good thing.

The reduction in food quantity per cycle seems to have help with him finishing his timed meals - so that is a positive. He is looking healthy and his fur is so soft.

I am very fortunate to have a great boss and plenty of vacation time - he has also been letting me work from home when I can, but some things I have to do I have to be here.

I have forewarned him that tomorrow may be the same, but told him I would just have to wait and see.

History:
AMPS=76, +1=67, +2=44, +2.5=54, +3.25=61, +4=58, +4.5=59, +5=58

He only ate about 1/4 of his PS food. I went ahead and shot him and tried to get him to eat again and he isn't interested. I am letting him be (for now). I don't know what else to do. I think the gravy has him spoiled. I will just monitor him and hope he eats.

ETA - he finished his PS fuds.

Should I add some HC gravy to his +2.5 snack? I will test him before to see how much he has dropped. His appy just isn't good (I think because of the number, not because he isn't feeling well). He was chasing a fly around the back window a little bit ago and then came and got his evening brushing.
 
Ok, never mind - lol. When his autofeeder turned he was already waiting for it so I just left it with the LC alone (and he is eating) - we will see. Will test again @ +3 (30 min). I would really not fight 40's again tonight so just trying to be proactive.
