Last Night:
345 PMPS
324 +7.5
309 +11.5

For the past two nights, J.D. has slept with me almost all night :-D with purrs.
Once we got home from our long day of work, last night, J.D. seemed to feel a lot better. He ate all his dinners and every bowl (and there were a lot) was licked clean when I woke up this morning.

This morning, I gave him the Ondansetron and he ate his 1st Breffis, and he is currently laying cuddled with Ginger in the little cat bed. He hasn't done that in a while.

I just wish I knew more about this pancreatitis and how I am to determine he is better, and can wean him off the drugs.
And, I'm not sure if I should give him the bupe during the day or not. I watched him jump off my bed last night at +7.5 and falling like a tripping horse (or me getting off a ski lift). The bedroom and basement doors will be closed again today, while I'm at work. I guess, I'll give him a little bit of bupe...I wish I knew what I was doing.

I hope everyone has a good day.

I'm glad to hear that J.D. is eating well and appears to be feeling better. Not sure what to tell you about the drugs. I have Cleo on ondansetron but it is for CRF so she takes it all the time. You are wise to keep doors closed to the basement while J.D. is on the bupe! Hope your day goes well.

Hi guys .. I'm glad to hear that J.D. is doing stuff that he used to do, like sleeping with ginger .. I wish I had answers to your questions .. I'd be scared in unfamiliar territory as well .. hang in there!

Read up on pancreatitis on the yahoo board. Chances are he will have to fight it again. It seems really common in diabetic cats and more common than most cat owners know. I see it a lot on cats that join FAF. Its a big reason for reduction in appetite.

I would make notes on your spreadsheet so you can refer back to how you treated him before, how long symptoms lasted etc.

Dyana, I'm glad to hear J.D. is doing his regular things, but it sounds like the pancreatitis is a hard thing to deal with. I have no experience with it, sorry. Please know I am close by (maybe 20min.) away, so if you ever need me to stay with him in an emergency situation, you can get in touch with me. Not always sure how I will be feeling, but it is always worth a try if you need someone. For now, :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

J.D. greeted me at the door, when I came home from work at PMPS, and then after shot time, we all went for a walk in the freezing cold. Ginger followed me and I thought J.D. stayed behind, but after walking down the stairs to the big lawn area, out comes J.D. from the bushes trotting up to me. We had a decent little walk in the cold with J.D. doing a bit of trotting around, and then came back inside for had Dinner #1, followed shortly after with Ondansetron and Dinner #2. And, I think J.D. was just playing with Ginger a little, as I heard those cute little cat chirpy noises that they do, but I was too busy typing  . They just had two dinners in less than two hours, and they're still following me into the kitchen hoping for more.

You should have seen J.D. when I left for work this morning. He thought he was hiding behind the curtain at the sliding glass door, except his butt and tail were sticking out. He was like that for the longest time  He didn't want to go back to work.
I thought I was going to have to take him to work again tomorrow, as we are short handed and I thought I would have to work late, but work says they can handle it. So that is good news for J.D. Thursday, may be a different story. Maybe..

It must have been Good Shipping Day, today. First, on my "lunch hour" which we don't really get, I called Cat Connection and said I usually buy a carton of Wildside Salmon, but usually get free shipping (with a promotion code that no longer works) and I said I would like to get another order, but can I get free shipping again? and she asked my phone number and took my order and gave me the free shipping. Next, I called Foster and Smith about the LiverSnax (made in China) that I bought two 22oz buckets of, and I said I have to return these. Everytime, I give them to my cat, he throws up, and besides his regular bloodwork in November, I have taken him back in February for more bloodwork when he threw up after eating them when they first were delivered, and again just this past week and we had to go back for another round of blood work because he threw up again after getting some of the treats, and now he has pancreatitis. She said she would send me a prepaid shipping label, so I get to send them back for free!. Then, thirdly, I just knew it would be...I went to my mailbox, and there was the Ondansetron pills that Desi sent me all the way from Louisiana on Saturday and they were here in my mailbox, today.
My cats loved smelling the wrapping and Tinkerbell and Tawny :-D Thank You Desi :YMHUG: You're The Best!

I hope everyone has a good night
