Last Night:
228 PMPS
386 +4
412 +11

I almost shot at +11, but waited anxiously until +11.5 and then gave his insulin. He got his 1/6? cypro and 1/2 Onsdansetron at AMPS. I gave him 1/4 can FF Savory Salmon and he mainly licked the juice, so I added a teaspoon of HC and some more water and mixed it all up and he ate most of it.

I did give him some bupe 0.05 cc (1/2 dose) at 10:00pm last night before going to bed. I slept on the couch, because I did not want him being woozy and jumping up and down from the bed, which is a lot higher.
He slept with me for about an hour and then went to his own bed. Sometime around +9, he woke me up when he jumped up on the couch and layed on me all purring away. :-D Or was that a dream? I don't think so.

He is still a little wobbily on his feet this morning, but did go after freeze dried salmon treats that I threw on the carpet about 4 feet in front of him.

I am sending J.D. eating vines for today.

He doesn't understand why the basement door is closed, and the litter box is upstairs, but I got a ketone = negative test.
I will also close the bedroom door, so he doesn't try to jump up and down from the bed while I'm gone.

He's better than he was on Sunday, but he is getting a little leary of me now when I call him because of all the pills.
Hopefully, the drugs will help and he will eat when he needs to. The doctor said the test results would be back today.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Re: 03/21 J.D. AMPS 406

Sending "be well, eat more" vines to J.D. this morning. How are you doing after battle the vets day?

Re: 03/21 J.D. AMPS 406

Dyana, sending some please eat vines and good results from Vetty today. Nice with the jumping up onto the couch and purring. There's something about the Savory Salmon FF that some of the kitties dislike after they changed the formula, but it's good to hear he licked the juices.

Re: 03/21 J.D. AMPS 406, +1 413

J.D. just pretty close to polished off a 1/4 can of FF Tuna, that was served to him in his bed.

Re: 03/21 J.D. AMPS 406

Sending hugs and healing vines. You are amazing and J.D. is one lucky kitty to have you fighting for him. :YMHUG:

The test result was 7.4, which according to the vet, he does have pancreatitis.

He did seem happy when I got home early! from work, and he has eaten is leftovers-for-dinner with FortiFlora sprinkles.

Again, the vet said only give the Onsdansetron if he vomits, but again I thought it was for nausea and not neccessarily for vomiting. Am I right or wrong?

So, I'm going to go love on my baby some. I had the worst tummy ache all day, like I was feeling the pain for him

aw...sending a blizzard of snowflakes for the handsome boy to feel better, Dyana.

Holding you and JD in our hearts...

Well I guess at least you know what you are dealing with now and can treat accordingly. Sending pancreas healing vines for J.D. and hoping he gets over this really quickly. His PMPS looks so much better than his AMPS that it seems he must be feeling a little better tonight

If J.D. wasn't feeling so bad it would be way cute that you are having sympathy pains for him, like some husbands when their wives are pregnant that also develop pregnancy symptoms. This just shows how close you are. Hope you are eating well and looking after yourself too Dyana, I know it's hard when you're worried but you need to keep your strength up for him. Sending hugs and eat well vines for you both.

I think you are right about the Ondansetron. I would continue giving it twice daily until he seems better. The Bupe and the fluids should help too.

Feel better soon (((J.D.))) and Dyana.

I'm glad you know what's going on with J.D. Now, if he should have the symptoms again, you'll know just what to do.

I hope you both feel better.

Oh man Dyana -been gone a few days and just catching up here.

Glad you know what's going on with him, I hope he feels better soon.

I don't know about kitties, but Zofran (Ondansetron ) was my go to drug during chemo.
The minute I was nauseous I took one and the nausea went away. great stuff. The label says it's for nausea and vomiting.
Happily I never had the opportunity to see how it works for vomiting.

sending sweet JD our strongest healing and feel better vines. :YMHUG:

It is definitely good that you now know what is/was going on, and that he's really starting to feel better. Give him some extra snuggles...it will make both of you feel better!

((((((((((JD)))))))))))))
((((((((((((((Dyana)))))))))))))
and of course, (((((((((((((((((Ginger)))))))))))))))))))

I hate to say I am glad you found out what was wrong. I wish nothing was wrong. But knowledge is power....to help him heal.

You were so on the ball, and such an amazing advocate for him the last few days. Thank you for being on his side.

I hope you guys have a relaxing evening with lots of snuggles.

(and yes, I used ondansetron for Latte 2x/day, to prevent nausea and vomiting).

poor little buddy. i hope the bupe and the O wipe out the pain and the nausea. you take such good care of him - and yay for you for standing your ground and getting the right test done.

sending feel better vibes for your tummy too. sounds like the sofa is a good spot for both of you this evening. :YMHUG:

Poor JD, i really hope he starts feeling better soon. Its good that you found out that he's got pancreatitis and now you know how to deal with it if it happens again (fingers crossed it doesn't). I know when Leo had his pancreatitis episode (we never did find out for sure if this was the case) the vetty advised to let him eat whatever he wanted, even if that included the crunchies and HC, which he loved!

Hugs to you and JD, i hope both of your tummy aches are gone.
