Gizmo, your SS has a ton of beautiful blue! Can you try to dip your paw into the lagoon today?

Have a good day Lizzie.

PMPS 162

History:
AMPS=199, +2=217, +11.5=176

The boy didn't eat his +4.5 or his +6.5 or his FD treats. He ate fine and with enthusiasm PS - IDK?? He, of course, had stomach acid (tiny bit) throw up when I was fixing his autofeeder. He seems fine. I added a Canna to his PS meal - hopefully it will encourage his appetite tonight.

When they get to lower numbers is it common that they don't eat as much? He just doesn't seem as food driven or as hungry lately.

Another food question - if you mix a 9% carb with a 4% carb food (1 to 2 ratio, i.e., 5.5oz 9% to 12oz 4%) is that still low enough carbs? I am not sure how to calculate that.

Anything below 10% is considered low carbs. If all things were equal and the % were true, then 9+4 divided by two would be 6.5 %. But as per Dr. Lisa's list, there are variations in manufacturing batches from run to run. Adding two low carb foods together is still low carb though.

Since Neko had acromegaly, I can't really answer the question about not being as hungry. :p She was always hungry, but maybe not quite as manic about it in lower numbers.

More blue/maybe green tonight Gizmo?

OMG! I created a monster. I got the dried bonito flakes - I have him a small, itty-bitty sliver - just to see (well, I gave it to hubby to put in his bowl) - he has followed hubby around meowimg at him for the past 30 min. LOL.

I know how to make sure he eats. I just worry about these low(er) numbers and not being here and him not eating. But he has always been "hungry" when he dips real low (50-70). I guess I am just a worry wort.

I noticed when Furball got into blues and greens she ate less. Their bodies process food better when they are in normal numbers and they don't need to eat as much.

Wow, nice changes here today

It is common for kitties to eat less as overall numbers go down. carbohydrates are better metabolized and that energy makes it into the cells of the body. It can feel a bit scary though.
