Pookie is doing really well, already acting like he's been here forever, He definitely loves to use our cat tree.

Just tested Pookies blood level for the first time at home, it went super well, to be honest, It was higher than earlier but after all today's stress, I would think that's normal Came out to 18.8 on our meter
We're set to give him his first shot tonight around 8 pm at 1.5. I think it should go perfect.
kyle is going to practise and post pics of dosing in a spare needle to make sure we are going to give him the right amount!! does anyone recommend an easy way to get photo URL links from photos on an iPhone ? not too sure how thank

yay, welcome home Pookie!

To get photos here from an iPhone, go to your photo and click the share button (the box with arrow pointing up) and then click Copy photo; in your post, you can then hold down and chose the paste option.

Also, I'd recommend having a syringe as your "guide" - colored water, juice, coffee, tea - so you can measure your other doses to it. It's more important that you dose consistently versus your 1.5u being the same as my 1.5u.

As an aside, if you want to change your user name, you can under your name in the top right coner, Personal Details, and then the last option on the left is Change Username (or you can keep yours if you like your spelling of course :))

thank you so much that was so helpful !! im going to try with some cranberry juice and post pics here and I changed the name ! i like pookie more than the way we had it mistakenly spelt he's doing so well!! love playing with this feathered string toy we have and our other cat oreo seems to be warming up to pookie ! so far our girl is not having it and wants nothing to do with him which is normal, she is more of an anti social girl

I see greenies in one of your photos, lol:smuggrin:. So that reminds me...For diabetic kitties, we recommend pure meat treats like PureBites dehydrated meat treats. I personally just cook up a piece of pork, cube it and freeze a bunch of those for butters’s treats. Is pookie eating any dry food?

When you post pics, be sure to edit your title to say “pics” in it. This attracts more attention so you can show off your precious babies.:cat: To edit, look just below your title all the way to the right where it says “thread tools”. Click on that and then “edit title”. While you’re in there, change the date so it says 03/16. I think the 3 is missing. Sorry to be so sticky but there are sooo many condos so they all follow the exact same title format to make it easier for us to know who needs help (and uh, who has cat photos:joyful:).
 
Oh yes!! We have the greenies but I bought 3 packs of free dried meat treats from loblaws The other day we are going to go to PetSmart and get more Thursday for just him!! Also I love to cook what type of pork do you use for butters treats I'd love to do this for not just Pookie, but our other cats as well!! Also thank you I never knew to edit the title I'm still trying to figure my way round this site !! And haha yes Dalton made the title I think he forgot I will change it ! So I was wanting to know as advice !! We feed my cat Oreo, a royal canin vet only food that is hypoallergenic as he has a sensitive tummy and is prone to acne, and out other cat as of now, beyond grain free dry food, we want to keep pookie strictly to wet, but also dont want him to get super hungry at night what would you suggest is best? Currently we have cans of friskies patte that is low carb, and I got some PC extra meaty cans as well! And some beyond wet food which is also ok I believe

The price is stupid high right now. I think ive seen it for under $50. You can also get an autofeeder that operates using an rfid tag so that only one cat can open it. We recommend spreading out meals in the early part of the cycle so the autofeeder is very useful for that.
so glad pookie will be eating only wet. I just cook like a boneless porkchop in a pan and then i cut it into tiny cubes for BG test treats. I also cook lean ground pork and drain the fat. I use a tiny bit of that for her insulin shot treats. Unfortunately she won’t allow me to shoot her while she eats her regular meal:rolleyes:, unlike almost everyone else’s cat here.
So i keep a ziploc baggie of cooked ground pork and one of cubed porkchop in my freezer for butters. Lol. Her meals are raw meat with supplements. She eats way better than I do.
 
ok, everyone !! i was very nervous to take his blood and give him his first shot as dalton is asleep !! happy to say both have been a success!! it was super nerve-wracking giving him the first shot but he takes is so well his levels are high but its the stress and I admit he's been given a few treats since he got here dalton will most likely be awake before me to do the morning dose but will test him around 10:30 to see how he's doing
 
So happy you guys (and pookie!) are all settling in! Pookie sounded like a wonderful cat, and he clearly is! lucky to have yous guys taking care of him.

I have two cats also, and found easier to feed the non-diabetic the same as my diabetic one. I was forever chasing them of each other's food before.

Yes we are using a human meter I didn't know we had to change the format !! We'd love help to change it if needed

I'm sure Bhooma (@Bandit's Mom) will help when she logs on - she's in India and just getting up :) I think she'll send a request to have edit rights to the SS. The formatting change is to the lime green coding (it's <50 for human meter and <68 for pet meter).

I was on Kyle's other post and asked Bhooma to get rid of the Alpha Team and replace it with the Bravo meter and to insert a line above 3-16-21 saying Switched to Bravo Meter

@Bandit's Mom Hi Bhooma would you help out Kyle with this. Thank you :cat:

sorry it's just 6Am my time I just got up we switched yesterday afternoon when we got him with s brand new bravo human meter !! Did you need the link to his spread sheet to make the appropriate changes !?

So glad he has made himself right at home! Butters is a fellow snuggly cat who also loves sleeping in my bed for the entire night. Every night. And she snores...but a small price to pay, I suppose!

Double check the link you are using first. Make sure it's the one that is editable (not the one in your signature). I know it seems obvious but I have to check.
Second question, are you in the correct Google account?
If it's not this...don't worry about it too much. Bhooma will be back online later and she'll help with further troubleshooting.
