Seems hungrier than normal the last couple of days. He's getting 3 snacks a day in combination with his main meals. I wonder if this is just him being gluttonous.

Still no poops yesterday, so far none today. Peeing as normal, no pain indicators. I have been using Miralax at both meals and pumpkin 3 times a day instead of Miralax at AMPS and Pumpkin 2x a day, starting yesterday.

He's in good spirits again today! However, refused to eat anywhere but on the window sill this morning. Spoiled little guy.. Got him another cardboard scratcher, but he doesn't seem to understand that he needs to put his body weight on it to keep it from moving. I keep finding it flipped upside down.

Side note: scratchers came with catnip. I heard this is okay for diabetic cats to have in moderation. Is this true, and would it be okay to put some on his scratcher?

I think it should be OK.

BTW, you want to try giving him a snack at +9 to see if that brings down his preshots to green. Did he get food within 2 hours of his PMPS yesterday? Wondering about that blue that showed up out of nowhere in a day of greens.

Okay, will start giving him a snack @ +9.

The snack he had last before his PMPS yesterday was @ +6, I was wondering why there was a jump there as well. He didn't seem stressed or anything, either.

I can’t remember, have you done the math on how many calories he’s having versus his ideal caloric intake?
Wanted to discuss this with my vet, but I'm still waiting on an email back :(. Got new batteries for my food scale; the old ones had corroded. guess I hadn't used it in much longer than I thought. I have not yet.

Great! Just wondering if he’s not getting enough. Glad he’s hungry though as opposed to the other way around…

Overall, he is getting about 1 full can of Friskies Pate, and sometimes a little bit of a second can with snacks. I was concerned about if he was getting enough as well; some days I even bumped his snacks up a tsp or 2 extra.
I also wonder if it could be his eating style. Since he likes to leave his food, come back to take a bite, leave, rinse, and repeat until it's gone, I'm wondering if he's just accustomed to eating a bit every so often when he wants.
For main meals, it usually takes him 30m-1hr to finish it completely, and for snacks, about 20-30 minutes. I don't know, honestly. Grasping at straws.

If that’s a 5.5 oz can it’s probably close to what he should be having. He’s around 10 lbs, right? Could start getting a weight on him occasionally and let that trend be your guide. The vet should be able to help too.

This is a good idea. He was 15 lbs back in October before diagnosis, but on the 25th, he weighed about 12-13lbs. He's a relatively big breed but is a lil chunky.

There’s nothing wrong with grazing. It actually can level them out. See if the +9 brings tge preshots down. It often does.
It sounds like he’s at a good weight.

A snack might help. For cats on tiny doses like 0.10U and below, the pancreas produce insulin in response to food which brings BG down 3 hours after food.
