J.D. ate some food last night at PMPS. He got his Baytril, and we went for a walk, in which we kind of got caught in a sudden rain storm. I dried him off and he ate some more food (I don't remember how much, but a little). Then he acted lethargic at least the way he was laying on the couch, it looked like he went into a deep sleep with his head hanging over the side of the couch (scary). I offered him food and he didn't want any. I offered him treats and he didn't want any :? I gave him cypro and ondansetron and waited and from about +3 to +6 I feed him baby food beef with gravy (that was the last jar of baby food I had in the house) and he finished the jar. I woke up this morning to him laying beside the bed, but once I got him up, he seemed more himself. I gave him a Pepcid at +11.25, and he ate some of his 1st Breffis and I syringed some Ultimate Flora mixed with water at AMPS. I will probably give him some more cypro in a few minutes.

If you have any to spare.
J.D. needs vines to feel better. He tummy was making loud gurgeling noises again last night. And vines to eat better.
My dad needs vines to get through his surgery today and recover fine without incident.
And lastly, I need vines because my tummy is all upset.

He ate some Friskies SD Turkey & Giblets and I gave him some cypro. He seems to be feeling a little better than he did last night.

Glad your Dad is being proactive and taking aspirin to ward off any clotting issues like last time. Thoughts and prayers that your Dad's surgery goes smoothly and that he recovers quickly too.

Oh Dyana I feel for what you are going through and goodness, sending loads of prayers and snowflakes and healing vines to J.D., your dad to come through surgery just fine and for your tummy to feel better. I'm going through those same tummy problems.. Please, please get better. Hugs :YMHUG:

I am just peaking in from work.
J.D. was eating a little more when I left the house this morning. I just pray he is doing okay.
I called the vet and asked about stopping the Baytril and she said to try to finish out the two weeks (he's been on them for 7 days now).
I have not heard from my step mom, yet. She carries a cell phone but may not be allowed to use it in the hospital.
I can't wait to go home and check on J.D. and for this work day to be over and to check on my dad. Just staying busy.

Sending vines all around for you and your family. it's no wonder you are feeling it yourself. So glad that J.D. is eating a little more. Tess still looses her appetite on the AB , but at least it isn't as bad as with Clavamox. Just a few more days to stick it out.

It is so tough to be at tbp when you are worried about your baby at home and your dad in the hospital. I hope they keep you really busy so you don't have time to think about it all.

I think JD knows you have your Dad on your mind and is eating and feeling better today so you can focus on his grandpa! :-D

I had a cat that did this. Tama (Cain & Brownie's mom) would be laying down on my lap drowsing and then her head would tip a bit and gently hit the desk edge I was sitting at. Scared me every time but she was just sleeping really deeply.

Again, I thank you all for your support and vines.

I was very busy at work, but tore out of there right at quitting time.
J.D. was laying in his bed when I got home, and I decided to test him after he got up and ate some left out food. He also ate some cat treats, so I felt better. He was HI, so I shot a little early and gave him some R. He ate a bit more food after that.

I just called my step mom and she didn't answer her cell phone. I figured they were still at the hospital. So, I called my dad's cell phone (which he never uses) and he answered and he is fine and has been home for about two hours. He says the surgery only took about an hour and they put a mesh device over the hernia and glued him back up. And, he's not going to be on any blood thinners. He just has to not do anything strenuous or lift anything heavy for two weeks. I think my step mom should tie him down or keep a very close eye on him. He's very active and hard working for an 83 year old retired guy.

I'm off to WalMart. No, first walk the cats, then off to WalMart.

A brief walk in the cold with the kitties in their jackets. They ate almost a can of food when we got home.
J.D. got his Baytril. The vet wants me to try to go the whole long two weeks. Whew.
It has been a better AB than Clavamox, I just don't like to see him lethargic and especially last night when he didn't want cat treats.

I need to go by ketone test strips and baby food, so I'm off to WalMart, and probably PetsMart which is next door :)

You should have heard the sigh I let out when I found out my Dad was okay. :-|

Glad your guys (Dad & J.D.) are feeling "better"; that means good to hear that your Dad did great and J.D. ate. I think maybe he was just tired out from coming down here to show Tawny how to eat those great big bite fulls of food, b/c that's what she did this morning, & J.D. is the only one who could have shown her!

J.D. come down off that "HI".

Hi Dyana, We are so happy that your dad came through his surgery so well and is feeling good. And it's great that J.D. ate after his walk in the cold weather. You must be very relieved. I hope that you will have a good evening and a good night's sleep.

I came home from PetsMart with my arms full of different FF fishy food and a half dozen Friskies SD Turkey & Giblets and some FF Appetizers and some cat treats. J.D. ate some FF Trout Feast with freeze dried shrimp on top when I got home. I am very tired.
 
No wonder you are tired my Dear!! Whew!! I am tired....and that's from just reading your condo!!! LOL
I am glad your Dad's surgery went well...now, for the healing and the better he feels the harder it will be to keep him from doing anything he shouldn't, right?
Hope he will think before he does anything silly....
And as for J.D.....well....continued prayers for him and for you and for all that you are going through.

I'm so sorry I didn't get here earlier to send you tons of vines for you, JD, and your dad. But I'm sure you could all still use them so we send extra ones that you will all have a good night, rest well, and feel better tomorrow.
 
So good to hear J.D. is eating better and seems to be on the mend. Great news about your dad- hope your stepmom can keep a leash on him - just like a kitty that feels good and doesn't acknowledge it is recovering from an injury. :roll:
