Good morning, everyone! Time change: complete! ~O) ~O) ~O)

Chaos is still bouncing.... or something. 378 this AM. ohmygod_smile What's up with that?? Chaos needs to start doing things that make sense :lol: Karrie made a good point last night- I don't know how people manage human children either, when just one FD kitty can be so hard!! Chaos is feeling fine, apparently. He has already done his race-and-skid through the kitchen thing a few times today. He's looking pretty, as always, and I have noticed that since we dropped the evil kibble, his eye boogers have cleared up so much. Nothing worse than a pretty white cat face with big icky brown eye boogers on it, right? But they're gone now... beautiful!

OT: Yesterday I mentioned that I decided to stop looking for another job I hate and instead, try to launch myself as a full-time cake designer. Well, the universe moves in strange ways. The day before yesterday, just on a lark, I applied online for a cake decorator job at Giant Eagle (grocery store chain). I listed my cake decorating experience as "self employed: Obey the Cake, 2005 - present" on my resume and application. I did not think they would pay me any attention at all, but hey, the worst they could do was ignore me, right? I was in the middle of setting up a twitter account for my cakes when my phone rang. My interview at Giant Eagle is tomorrow. I didn't schedule it till 1 PM so I can make sure Chaos is OK. I leaped into action, sending all my cake photos online to the photo printer- ta-daaa!!! I will be spending the day putting together my portfolio. I know I don't have to ask, but please wish me luck. I could learn so much there. \M/

If I get this job, I hope I can count on my friends here to help me create a plan to manage Chaos and work at the same time. The store is close, so coming home on my lunch break to test and feed may be possible.

Wow -- unbelievable that you got the call right after you had made your decision to pursue your passion. Things do happen for a reason and here's hoping that your interview goes well tomorrow and you can start doing something you truly love and get paid for it. Good thing the store is close by. I work close to where I live and it has been a lifesaver knowing I can come home quickly to check on Simon at lunch.

That is terrific news! I am thinking good thoughts that you will get that job. It certainly does seem as if all the signs are right for this to happen. Good luck on the interview tomorrow! I know how excited you must be. Your cake photos will make a great impression.

Chaos: you can start to come down to better numbers now. OK? Get out your toys and play! It's so neat that your handsome face is even more handsome now that your eyes are free of that gunk!

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. I do feel as if it is "my turn" and perhaps the universe is responding to my intentions and positive thoughts. All of yours will definitely help! I'm really exited but totally nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile at the same time.

As for Chaos, perhaps he wants me to worry about him today after all. He's entered the diving championships again today. From 378 to 177 in three hours!! Well, we know the insulin is working. I've read a few concerns about fur shots and cats smelling like insulin in other condos today, and I just want to mention that Chaos's scruff area smells like insulin sometimes. I think it's because when we shoot out the extra insulin and bubble, we have drops of insulin on the outside of our needles. I think those drops end up on the cat's skin while the juice in the syringe actually goes into the cat. You can smell it, bit it's such a small amount that you don't feel the wetness. Just my $0.02 on that...

Morning guys! Glad all is well with DST,and that the ~O) ~O) ~O) is pouring.

Good luck wit the job interview - I think it is awesome, and yes - timing is everything sometimes, and things do happen for a reason, and why not do what you really love. It is a shame when we get stuck in jobs that we don't really like or want to do, so - go for it! it is nice that the store is close to home, and you could come and check Chaos if needed.

And look at Chaos go today! Dive mode in effect! be good Chaos, not too fast, or too low...

on the nanners, since you mentioned it in mannie's condo. I got his through amazon: nanners

oh, congrats on the interview. would love to see what kind of machine they use to do real life photos. My sis had one made of me with the face and shoulders when I was 4 on my 50th. I am sure those machines have improved a LOT since then ROFLMAO.
I use a little sprayer and I put on pics with a , what is it called, tosses the image out there and you can trace. shoot

Dian, I am excited to see what that machine's all about, too! Should be some fun stuff. I'm not sure what you mean about tossing a pic on there to trace, is it done with light?

Chaos has slowed down a little bit with the diving. 96 at 6.5 is nothing to complain about. He's having another snack before I head out to get a photo album and prints of some "oldies"- cakes I made years ago. A few friends were kind enough to dig up some photos for me. Unfortunately the only photo of my Spongebob cake (oh, how I hate spongebob!!) has my great-nephew's hand print already in it.. He got excited when he saw the cake, yelled "Pongebaaah!" and stuck his hand right in it! :lol: :lol: :lol: He loved it, that's all that counts.

Chaos ran out the door while DH was taking out the trash. DH ran after him, picked him up, and promptly got kitty-punched in the nose! :lol: Only I, with my supreme cat-mama powers, was able to get Chaos back in without touching him at all.

Michelle, thanks for the nanners link. I will get some for Chaos soon and see what he thinks of them. :mrgreen:

projector.. see, old minds can come to life..... eventually. lol
he comes down nicely heh? usually, the higher the number the lower they can go. I have only done comic book or coloring book and cartoons with this. no real life. I think it was beauty and the beast. GE just cut out the front of the book and put it on the cake. I took that book and projected on a cake and traced. kind of had but doable. I know i took a pic but have no clue where it is at

Nice day for the beautiful Chaos. hehe on punching the daddybean in the nose,

I brought 'nanners to my two grandkitties yesterday, and they rolled and slobbered all over them. They each kept trying to hoard them both, and the other cat would snatch it away, It was sooo funny.
And my DIL's aunt said, she had never seen them play with toys.
Can't wait for Chaos to get his. I love 'nanner stories. :-D

Wow... how does he do it?? PMPS 415 after a +6.5 of 96?? Chaos is becoming the trampoline king! Yes, I know there was a green behind it, but I do hate to see that red color on his spreadsheet. It feels like getting an F on my report card! :lol: He's been his usual self today... no more violence since the hubby nose punch :lol: I am the only person Chaos allows to pick him up and even then, he is merely tolerant of it. I'm going to get him some nanners this week when my check deposits. :mrgreen:

Barb: that is sooo cute, my mom calls Chaos her grandkitty too. I love that.

Dian: I was thinking 'opaque projector' too.. that's a really great idea for getting characters onto cakes w/out messing up the proportions.

Thanks so much, everyone, for your support and positive vibes. I honestly believe that when two or more people are together in prayer, sending out vibes or energy, positive thoughts, whatever you want to call it, whatever your personal beliefs are.... I believe it is powerful. Just like when we are all praying for a sick kitty and his/her bean. I know that my getting this job is not nearly as critical or important as that, but it's the same idea. So thank you, everyone, from the bottom of my big squishy heart. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

just do not get a projector like mine. bought many years ago and a big heavy old thing but it dose work.

Boing Boing Boing. Chaos' liver is making a statement :lol: I believe in positive energy too.

I've laughed out loud both times I've read about Chaos bonking your husband on the nose. Chaos you rock! Been reading condo's this afternoon and didn't get any chances to type messages.
 
Yup, Chaos's liver is definitely telling us that it is working beautifully, eh? But he is also responding to insulin. He's down to 271 at +3, so I am encouraged. I am also happy that this is a number that will allow me a full night of sleep before tomorrow's big fat deal interview!

It may be a while before I get into opaque projectors and such, but if/when I get one, I'll go for a modern, lighter model.

Chaos has been so excellent for his tests today, I am so proud of him! I think he appreciates my taking care of him the way I do. He's having his +3 snack and is a happy boy.
