Good luck with vet! :-) You can always add some pumpkin or psyllium husk to his wet food for fibre. There have been some cats who have seen a big difference in their numbers from the removal of dry food - even low carb dry food.

I'm going to do my best Bhooma. I am to the contention wet is better, but some of them are just so set in their ways!!

I will have to get psyllium husk and make the tea to add to wet. The Slippery Elm is also pretty great, so we have that.

The Vet also thinks the initial constipation could have been a symptom if the diabetes itself, and as he goes along it's probably improving on its own.

He fought me to get in the carrier, but we got there, and I was surprised that his number only stress inflated by few points ( I brought my meter and asked for blood from the sample they took!)

Tell me about it. Bandit eats only high carb dry food. I could never transition her to wet food. For the first couple of years after diagnosis she was eating YA and Dr. Elsey's but after that she refused to eat those as well.

I'm surprised that all 3 I have inside. (including Sly) are ok with the YA. I tried Dr.Elsey's with my last Sugar boy, he hated it and nobody else, including my rescues, would touch it!!

My 5 rescues get regular high carb free fed and wet twice a day. They live in a giant catio attached to a heated shed house in my yard. If I had the time, if it was plausible, I'd go out and feed them wet 6x a day, but reality is that 2 would starve, because they hate wet food!!
