Good meowning our wonderful FD furrrriends

I wanted to finally share this update about Nestle with all of you so you know what's been going on with us.
So about a week and half ago Nestle was being naughty and decided to eat a pecan butter tart ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜ฅ It was totally my fault as I left it on the counter but my boys rarely go on counters and /or mess with items on the counter. And the butter tart was there for an entire week (it was individually wrapped) and neither one of my boys was interested in it. Until Nestle decided it's free for all. Sometime in the late sunday night or early Monday morning he ate about a third or so of it.
I woke up to him having diarrhea in the litter box, which I thought was really weird cause he never really has gastro issues. When I got up to clean it I found the eaten tart on the kitchen floor. So I realized that would explain his diarrhea. About half hour later he threw up. That morning he didn't want to eat breakfast at all, which is very unusual for him as he's always a hungry monkey. That's how I knew he's not well. I checked his BG but I expected it to be high due to high sugar in the tart. I kept monitoring for few days and although it seemed he was coming down on his own (the first 2 days), he then shot up into 300. After much thought and considerstion I decided he cannot do this on his own and needs a small push, so I put him back on insulin. Today is day 7 on 0.5 units and he's been doing really well *anti-jinx* His SS is updated if anyone wants to check it out.

I've been very upset with myself and kicking myself for being so stupid and reckless but I'm happy with his progress.
I'll be going to work this evening and returning tomorrow night. Michelle is coming to look after the boys.

Here are some photos of my sweet tart thief

Ahh! Poor guy. I bet it was worth it to him though he probably really enjoyed that ๐Ÿ˜„

Marking my calendar for Nestle's 3rd OTJ trial starting soon... looking great!
He looooves butter, so I'm assuming the butter tart was really yummy to him. And he definitely channeled his inner Bella @cecile & bella

Oh my silly silly boy.
I was just glad I was home that morning and then off for few days afterwards so I could monitor.

Aww it must have been a delicious tart for him to eat that much. I'm glad it looks like he responding super well and should get back on track! They're adorable โค๏ธ

Xander used to have a thing for bread left on the counter. He never really ate much of it, but we would find the package on the ground with a bunch of bite marks.

Oh, what a delicious cake that was for him! I could never leave anything on the kitchen counter because he always wanted to steal it. Ever since he had the problem with his back legs, the poor thing doesn't climb anywhere anymore. On the one hand, I miss how much of a climber he was, but on the other hand, I can leave food for the other cats up high. I hope he'll be back to normal soon. What beautiful cats you have! I always wanted a ginger cat. โค๏ธ

Naughty Nestle!! Silly boy! I can just see him in my mind devouring that tart and look of absolute joy on his sweet little face. โค๏ธ

So great that you were able to catch it quickly and give him the support he needs. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™ll be OTJ in no time and we shall all party for him once again ๐Ÿฅณ

Big hugs to you all ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿˆ ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’•

Naughty boy! Youโ€™ve got this Karolina! He will be back to his norm before long.
Be kind to yourself, you know these kitties just get into things they shouldnโ€™t!
He will be back OTJ in a flash, Mr. Steady as I like to call him๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š
