269 @ +3.....im on the tablet right now cause wife is trying to get taxes done so we can buy this house from her dad... Just another thing on the pile of stuff we are managing right now... :?

That's down from her pmps of 335 right? That's a nice slow drop. I'm sure Mel will chime in, in a few min, but personally, I'd leave her something to nibble on and go to bed if you needed to.

But that's JMO. If you plan to be up for another hour or 2, test her before you're ready to turn in. Can't have too much data. :-D

Lucian GAINED 135 points on his +3, don't know what's up with that! :o Never a dull moment with my boy!

Oh that is a pretty nice easy drop down..if you want to stay up with her for awhile you can but you can also leave her some food if she gets hungry and hit the hay, even if she drops lower tonight I highly doubt she will go too low, but I bet she does hit the low blues or even green. :-D

I'll probably stay for at least +4....just to make sure it doesn't steepen.... In the meantime I was bored and thought I'd share a pic of my fish tank give es you an idea of the detail that I take in my endeavors... It is a coral reef... Everything in here is living... Enjoy

I would give her a tsp or 2 of her regular food and steer her, to keep her from going too low. Is that her +4 or 5?

Let me know you're there please. :-D

I checked, it's her +4, I'd def be using her food to keep her on an even keel, you want her to surf, not dive. No snorkling tonight Frankie!

I dont know the carbs of the food.. its friskies mixed grill pate... I have FF with gravy for carbs... plus karo.... I also have hone and pancake syrup (not pure maple) I think only lite though

The chance of needing high carb or syrup is slim, her food should be fine. I believe the mixed grill is like 8 on the new list, was lower on the old list.

Wait 30 min, for her +6, test and give her 2 more tsp. Her next test will probably be a bit lower, she's still dropping to her nadir, usually about 6-7.

Right now, she is in good non-diabetic numbers, not to worry. We'll keep at it until she is headed back up. :-D

it's a good thing she is hangin out by me a lot now because it would suck to have to pull up the matress every time I needed to check her... esp if Amy was sleeping

Yeah, you need to keep her close until we don't have to worry about her.

70's are great numbers, but when on insulin, you have to keep an eye on them and 'steer' to keep it from going too low.

Like I said, she's fine, we'll keep watch, test and feed until she's headed up. I wouldn't recommend the high carb, etc, unless she went much lower, then a couple tsp of the high carb food, instead of her regular. Right now we'll just try to keep her as close to where she is as we can.

Excellent! Give her 2 more tsp. :-D

Since you're testing every 30 min, we might do 1 tsp after this, don't want her to get full.

Is it okay to give the salmon flavor? I ran out of the others... I know I'm supposed to limit those to 1-2 a week... she hasn't had any at all in over a week.

Sure, flavor isn't important as long as she likes it. Since you will be testing at least 3-4 more times, I'd suggest 1 tsp each time.

She is a small cat, afterall.

Mine eat fish every other day and I have a civvie that will only eat tuna, so whatever on that one. ;-)

OK, from now on, let's go with 1 tsp, she's a small cat and we don't want her to NOT be interested in her little snacks. ;-)

I noticed today, her nadir was at +5, she might be in that area tonight too and you won't have to stay up as long before she starts her upward climb :-D

Lucian seems to be around 6-7 for his.

I'd give 1, because what your seeing is mostly food spike, when it wears off, if she's not on her way up, she'll drop again. Do you understand?

You'll need to do it probably once or twice more, just to be sure she is on her way up and you can let her go on her own.

We'll see what she is in 30.

Had I thought, ohmygod_smile I would have told you 1 tsp from the start, her being as small as she is and you testing every 30 min. If she was a little bigger and/or you were going for every 45 min, maybe 1.5 tsp. I did 2 with Lucian, but he's a little bigger and I was testing every 45 min.

If she is still at 100 next time, hold off on the snack and test her again in 30, if she's still up, go to bed and leave her a snack. You'll know she's headed up on her own then.

Kinda what I was thinking too... There is a newbie in health that needs a lantus user... seems no one else is on.... do you have emails for anyone that might help?

Was that quilterkitty? Someone told them the only thing I could, I'm new too. I wouldn't begin to suggest dose info and have no way to reach anyone.

I'd be lost without Mel  Although I can handle it, it's nice to have someone to talk to. :-D

Good Job!

You'll do it for someone else one day ;-) or night.

I'm headed to bed too, it's 2:30 here! :o

See ya tomorrow!

OH and expect her to bounce! She hasn't been in these numbers for a while, so her body isn't used to it, so hang on for the ride. :-D

Seriously, with her size, if she gets too crazy, you might consider taking to .5 and working up. 1.0 might be a little high for her, talk to Mel about that tomorrow.

Nite!

Great Job you two last night!!!!!

Sorry I wasn't around last night I literally crashed on the couch but you two did a stellar job.
