It’s usually not such a great idea to just fatten a dose. We often use fattening and skinnying for cats that are about to go into remission and just need some fine tuning or if a cat fails reductions. I can’t really say I believe he has failed reductions.

A few of us were discussing Henry and how he doesn’t look as good on the. 0.75u dos as he did last time. Christie suggested perhaps you can drop his carbs from 7% to 0-3%. While I had thought about this a while back, I dismissed it because:

  • I know you like consistency with him.
  • It’s possible lower carb food will not just drop his PSs but also his entire curve; we don’t know but that often happens.
  • You could make a food change but then it not result in a change to his BG; it depends on how carb sensitive he is or is not.
Would you want to try a lower carb food?

Marje Henry is very finicky an increase in insulin would be not good I'm confused what has happened?

So has Henry hit a wall with no chance of improving?

I’m not saying an increase in i suki is not good. I’m saying it’s better, if you are going to increase, to do it by 0.25u at this point.

No, I don’t think he’s hit a wall and won’t improve. We just will have to give him insulin support as long as he does need it.

OK I will start 1.0 units at AMPS tomorrow

Now as far as the lower carb diet I will try it if Henry likes it.

Right now Kay and I will experiment with small amounts of low carb food to see which one he likes the most and try to slowing introduce it into his diet

This is an improvement for PMPS +5.5 of late

Big picture, Robert, is that Henry is looking really really good, most kitties would love to have a SS like Henry's :) and as you mentioned to me a few posts ago, he's feeling good, which is, to me, the most important thing. You and Kay have found a really good routine overall, it might just need a little tweaking, if Henry is up to a little experimenting ;)
