He did well for his test and shot this morning. Ate his chicken treat and finished his breakfast. Numbers are still high, it's like they keep going up during the cycle instead of down. Still wonky with this dose so far. Hopefully it dips down in the next few days.
Hope everyone has a great day.:)

Well, dang, that green come out of nowhere at +3. Gave him about a tablespoon of LC. I'll check back in about 30 minutes to an hour. He was listening to the birds by the window when I came in so I cracked the curtain open just a little. No hypo signs, very energetic and alert.

After an hour it's staying about the same. Should I give more food or wait? I'll test in another hour.

I agree, he's usually more carb sensitive though, surprised he didn't raise any higher. Guess that insulin just started kicking in though.
That's how Moey is. When the insulin is "peaking" and his #s are dropping, Moey laughs at LC. I have to break out the MC...12% and up.

Dropped to 43. Giving his lunch early with some slightly higher LC. Will check again in 30 minutes.

You're at +5 or a little beyond. So the amount of HC is going to be key to not over inflating his #s. I'd start at a 1/2 Tsp - 1 Tsp. You know Thomas and his carb sensitivity so, you be the judge on the amount:)

One thing I forgot to mention, which you probably know. You need to take meter variance into account, especially with low #s. That 43 you got could have really been a # in the 30s. So, I wouldn't have really cared much about overcarbing him a little...just to get him away from those #s. Jmo ;)

Maybe MC would help bolster his #s w/o overdoing it. I try to keep that around. Using small amounts of it when Moey's in the 40s will bring him up to a comfortable #. H/e there has been instances where the MC didn't work for the 40s. Had to break out the 20%
They were out of the kinds I was looking for at the store when I went to pick some up a couple weeks ago. I'll have to check if they're back in stock and pick up some MC Soon.

I agree, that's why I went ahead and gave him his lunch with the slightly high carbs to see if that'd bump him up. May have to still give him a bite of HC as he's still floating in the 50s.

I have some 15% and 20% HC. Gonna give just a tiny bite of 15% to see how that boosts him.

Update: Gave just a tiny teaspoon of 15%, will check again in 30 minutes.

Yes, unfortunately it's an automatic reduction for newly diagnosed kitties who've gone under 50. It's better to play it safe...could be the depot is full...could be too much insulin...if you shoot the same amount you may be asking for a long night of close supervision and trying to bring him up with food...unless someone else comes on and says to leave it, I'd say back off for now...let's see how long it takes the depot to settle down...Next thing might be a big ole bounce from hitting that low number .... and then it'll take a little time for that to settle down...this is not something you want to rush.

So back to 1.25 units?

Alright, he's looking good now. I'll be testing next at PMPS because it doesn't look like he'll be dipping to anymore low numbers this late in the cycle. Need to get the rest of my housework done before it gets too late.

Sorry, I just left on ya like that. That's not my style. Had to step AFK for a while. I'm glad Sue kept an eye on y'all and gave great advice! Congrats on the reduction!
Looking real good Thomas boy!
Have a wonderful afternoon/evening Brittany:)

He's been good with all the testing today thankfully. I decided he deserved a nice sunbathing today and even opened the screened in window for a few hours. He enjoyed napping and bird watching today.
Good with his PM shot but didn't eat much, I think he was distracted by the birds tweeting as he went back to the window to watch them leaving his food behind. I know he'll eat it later though.
