Last dose of dental ABs given this morning, yellow and more yellow yesterday. Looks like today might be the day he puts the whole dental experience behind him :smile:

It's still pretty hot during the day here but the nights have been cooling off a little so I have my purry teddy bear back in bed sleeping with me :smile: I think he's missed that too because it's only cooled off a little so he doesn't need me to keep him warm - it's amazing what a snuggler he turns into when it's actually cold!

I guess I should confess that the swing would be for Meg's mouse, she seems to have adopted a mouse friend and who am I to break them up :smile: I startled said mouse in the corridor the other day and it ran right under Megs chin to get into her 'tunnel' (made from cardboard boxes and full of hay). It's nice that she has someone/s to keep her company, she spends a lot of time in her tunnel room...

Serryn, can you see any difference in how Vyktor feels after getting his mats shaved? Very cute about the mouse. Does he/she have a name? Are you going to throw some cheese in there? :-D

Huge difference since his mats have been shaved. No more yowling when he stands, no more getting in the lb and getting out again before going back to do his business and I am allowed to touch him there now, this is very lucky since I can't resist kissing his shaved bits, so soft and delicious :-D

I'm not sure if the mouse in with Meg is the same mouse that hangs out in the laundry (her tunnel room is opposite the laundry). I do leave some pellets in the laundry under a bench where Meg can't get to them (I also give some to the outside mice) but unfortunately for them this being a vegan household (except for Vyktor) there will be no cheese. Laundry mouse does get a bit of dry cat food here and there too since Vyktor doesn't eat it anymore.

I would have a bit of trouble naming the mice as all I usually see of them is a blur. I did have one outside favourite with a white tip on his tail that was easily recognisable and not concerned about hiding from me but he drowned a little while ago :cry: It has been a pretty crappy month...

Roni: Meg is a rabbit. Vyktor likes to hang around the bench where I put the food for mousey and also the outside couch where some live - but it is not with good intentions!

Doh - have just noticed 2 of 3 AB pill pockets are still sitting in his food bowl we're at +3.75 and he hasn't eaten yet but he is full of purrs and seems great so I won't get too concerned just yet

It just keeps getting cuter...Meg has her own mouse, how sweet!

BTW, mice love cashews!

I'm so glad to hear Vyktor is feeling better, dental-wise, and mat-wise. And luck you that it's getting cooler at night and he snuggles more!

Very entertaining condo today! That's great the Vyktor is feeling better from his trim. Zener's belly fur is so soft too and he loves to have it rubbed. I'm sorry about the mouse drowning. :sad:

We're past +6 and Vyktor still hasn't eaten. We just had a little puke too, just saliva.

He is hungry (he tried to eat my crumpets and was very happy to see his after test treat) he is just being stubborn about eating what is in his bowl, think I'll have to give up soon and replace it. Can't hurt too much to miss the last dose of AB can it?

He wasn't too into his food yesterday either. His poos are ok but maybe the AB has upset his tummy a little.

While BK was regaining strength and weight from his very sick time, he at Wellness exclusively - 2 flavors that I alternated.
One day - I can't remember when (it's probably a good idea if I try and figure it out) he just stopped eating the Wellness, both flavors.
I called it Wellness Strike. I tried to sneak it back in the picture from time to time to no avail.
He was just done with it. He's been eating FF ever since.

so cute the meg has a mouse! we had mice invade our last house - ok, 2 mice, specifically. they ran from the kitchen into the laundry room. i'm such a sap that i got a live trap, we caught one, drove it to a nearby field and let it go. returned home and within minutes had the second mouse and let it go in the same place. couldn't bring myself to hurt them.

you've had a bit of a rough time lately - i hope things become downright boring for you for a while. :YMHUG:

MumBean's stubborness finally exceeded Vyktor's at +9.75 and he ate his morning antibiotics. Still not too interested in food though, hoping he's just got a shrunken stomach from not eating all day and/or bruised pride from finally eating this mornings food. Ketones last checked 03/01 (negative) so should be no problem there.

I have a bit of a problem with foods here, very limited choice for LC and most of them are fish so he's just not allowed to go off any of the non-fish versions!

Provided mousie with a cashew and a slice of carrot this afternoon - turns out mousie is a bit spoilt - the cashew vanished in no time but the carrot is still there.

I love mice, too. I used to feed them little piles of grain at a stables where I kept my horses when I was younger.
I have a live mouse trap, that I have used with success, when Ginger came running into the house with a mouse in her mouth and then let it go in the living room so she could play with it. I let it go right back outside where it's family was.

Sending eating vines to Vyktor. Sometimes, after trying all the flavors, I'll try switching bowls too. Sometimes, I'll feed my cats on my plates and they'll eat it, like it's something special that way. I know J.D. would go off his food when on ABs and I couldn't wait until they were finished and his appetite would come back.

I hope Vyktor does well today. Im glad he is feeling better. I know what you mean about the shaved bits being so kissable. The fur on Sid's belly hasn't grown in yet (after almost 2 months) and his little belly is so soft. He loves for me to rub and he rolls on his back and purrs.

That is so cute about the mouse. I would be afraid for the fate of any mouse in my house, but at one time a long time ago, I ended up with a mouse (long story). basically someone I knew had mouse he had gotten from a pet store and then decided he didnt want it so he set the mouse's house (aquarium) in the back yard with the lid off to set it free but the mouse wouldn't leave his little house. I knew the mouse wouldn't be fed so i took the mouse and it lived on my shelf for almost a year and provided entertainment for the cats because they watched the mouse daily. It was a very cute little mouse but I just fed it and gave it toys. I never tried to handle it.

I hope March is a better month for you Serryn. February was very crappy.

LOL...just like a kid, going for the "good stuff" first! I'm glad Mousie enjoyed the cashew! We had mice in our basement a number of years ago...that's how we discovered the wonder of cashews, and the brilliance of mice. With 6 cats in the house, we couldn't let the mice be down there...you know what I was afraid of. So, we got a Hav-A-Heart trap to catch the mice and take them outside, while DH spent countless hours trying to figure out where they were coming in (it took weeks, but he finally found the pin-sized hole!). In the meantime, we were trapping mice on a daily basis, using cashews as bait. They quickly learned their way around the trap...they could snag that cashew without tripping the trap. My favorite was the morning I went down to check the trap, the cashew was gone, the trap was tripped, and no mouse was in sight :lol: !!! We had to start "glueing" the cashew down with peanut butter so the trap would trip. I think we probably ended up with a yard full of chubby little mice :lol: :lol: :lol: !

I had hamsters when I was growing up...they loved Cheerios, and watching them eat those little cereal hoops was adorable - they'd spin it and eat from the outside edge in to the center. I had one hamster who got out of his cage one night. He wandered into the kitchen and found the cat's kibble. He emptied that kibble bowl - hauled all of it back to the table his cage was on and left it in a tidy little pile right there! Then, he came upstairs, roamed into my bedroom, and woke me up by walking across my pillow. What he did still amazes me, even after all these years.

Maybe Vyktor's tummy is a bit bothered by the ABs...glad to hear they are done with! I hope he' starts chowing down without argument ASAP!

I hope Vyktor's ABs tummy upset clears quickly and he falls in love with his food again. It's hard when there are limited selections and kitty gets cranky. What cure mousey stories in your condo today!

I love all the mouse stories today. I have some of my own, but I'm not supposed to be typing, so I'll save them for another day.

I hope Vyktor gets his appetite back soon, and his tummy feels better.
