This morning, I woke up on my own at 5:31am. I got up and went into the livingroom and my iphone alarm went off at 5:45am. I always set it for either 5:00am or 5:30am. I can only guess? that it had been set for 5:00am, and I somehow snoozed it at 5:00am, 5:09am, 5:18am, 5:27am, and 5:36am. I have no idea. It sits on my headboard behind my pillows.
Anyway, that's all I have to report. :)

I was just trimming Jackson's front nails as he has been reaching out with his front paws and his nails have been out. I got to the last nail (his pinky) and I cut too close. I have never done that before... He jerked and his white paw had red blood around it :(

I applied pressure with the facial cotton rounds that I use for sopping up the blood when testing. I gave him lots of loving pets and "I'm sorry"s

Dyana, I'm so sorry to see that Jackson is on insulin. I'm sorry to hear you trimmed his nail too close. Poor baby. I'm sure he'll be okay. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

I keep some styptic powder around in case I ever cut a quick. Only had to use it once, but good to have around.

Your SS says increased to 5.5 units, but I presume it was 6.5? If so, you might want to think about getting Jackson tested for IAA and acromegaly. :bighug::bighug:That's what we suggest when people's cats get over 6 units but are still eating low carb food. Something is causing him to need higher doses.

I am so careful, and decide where I am going to cut and then back away a little bit.
It surprised me.

I fixed it. Thanks.

That is what scares me. And he snores sometimes, actually a lot. Will my vet know what IAA is? I'll have to wait a few weeks to save up, and by then he'll be on 10 units.
