These extra tests I started getting to tell if her pre-shots are rising or falling are causing poor Furball's ear to look awful. She has started jerking her head when I test because I think I am hitting the same spots before they heal. She tore her ear little bit this morning. I am using Neosporin, but her ear still needs time to heal. I can only prick one ear because of the polyp that causes ear infections in the other ear. Her old vet used to dig and dig in that ear trying to clean it out and get her growling and hissing. This has caused her to be very sensitive to the left ear being touched. I have a hard time even cleaning that ear. I may have to try and see if she'll let me test that ear anyway.

Furball was happy & purry this morning before I tested. She made up to me after she ate her breakfast, so I guess I'm forgiven for her ear. TGIF.

Luckily their ears seem to heal quickly. I wish you luck in being able to test the left ear for a few days.
Otherwise, maybe you can try testing in a different part of her right ear? I know I test pretty much in the same place, and it's always been lower than halfway up the ear, but I know some people test up closer to the very tip of the ear.

Morning Carla, I also have trouble testing Maggie's left ear. I test in the middle, and she has a small bump there, poor Mags. I bought some 30g lancets to see if they might be better on her ear. I had been using a thicker gauge. Hope you're feeling better today and Furball comes down to some nice blues while at work.

It is a nice start today for Furball - mid yellow. Maybe the blues later Furball? That would make the bean very happy.

It is the same here, on the ears. I try to move up and down the ear some, as Mannie has this little bump too from all the tests. It does heal over time. Neosporin does make such a difference. I have read that a few people her also put a drop of Vit E on the ear occasionally too.

Hi guys .. I know the extra shots are rough on the kitties ears .. we could also only ever test mocha's right ear .. and we tested multiple times for two years .. just make sure to apply pressure after the poke to prevent any bruising .. have a great weekend guys!
 
It was nice to see blue when I got home. It looks like Furball slid down today. Hopefully she'll have a nice surf tonight. I'm still not feeling well so probably won't get any checks during the night.
