Furball was happy & purry this morning. She's feeling good, so I think she dipped down to blue last night and is bouncing again.

Your roads sound awful. I hope that they can get them well sanded before you have to venture out again. Do you have snow tires on your car? Stay safe and warm.

p.s. I always carry a bag of non-clumping, clay kitty litter in the car in case I get stuck in ice or snow. Newspaper stuck under the wheels also can work. And I carry a small snow shovel. Make sure you have a large plastic garbage bag in your car. You can use it like a sleeping bag to help keep your body heat in in the event you are stuck somewhere. A candle, a coffee can to stand it in, and matches will help keep you warm. Just make sure to crack a window! Never leave the car! Always have a flashlight.

Ella, thanks for the tips. Our main roads and most of the secondary roads are fine. They just haven't bothered treating all of the secondary roads for whatever reason. The state of WV took over my road several years ago. When they first did, they actually plowed and salted when it snowed. Now they rarely do. I don't expect we'll get any help. 7" of snow is unusual for us. Add in the sub freezing temps and it's a mess. This is not normal. Usually, I don't have this much trouble getting off my road. I bought my car in August, so it has whatever tires came with it. I don't get snow tires because we usually only get 1" to 3" of snow and I never had problems getting around. This winter, the 7" is the first snow that has stuck to the roads.

We're getting freezing rain right now to make things even worse. I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere today.

Such a mess with your road. Warm-up, dry-up wishes for you.

As for Miss Happy-Purry, drop down, smooth out wishes headed her way.

Stay in; stay warm.

It's nice to see that blue this evening. I hope she keeps surfing.

I meant to get another test in this afternoon, but I got sidetracked. I was shoveling slush from my driveway. The freezing rain turned to wet snow and then rain. It's a mess. I did manage to get off my road and run to the store, but it's still slick in some areas.

Loving those blues Furball! Keep it up! Your weather sounds horrific! Nothing makes for a worse mess than freezing rain on top of piles of snow, and its just so much worse in areas that don't experience that type of winter weather all that often. I'm glad to read you were able to get out, but definitely take Ella's winter weather driving tips. Even if you're super careful and prepared, you always gotta watch out for the other other guy who isn't being as careful. Go away winter weather vines headed your way! Stay safe!
