Happy bouncing Rupert this morning. Did his ear check.. egads. in the Red. Not really surprised. Let him out for his pee, came back, had half a can of Merrick (5%), gave him the same fat 1.5 that I gave him last night....

tested +3, he's down to 154. Huge drop.. however... using the graph that I privately use that plots overall trend lines.... things actually look good. The highest highs are getting lower, and the lows are becoming more consistent. the jumps from the lows to the highs smaller, the dives not too horrific. The chart shows and overall very steady downward decline in the BG levels so I'm not panicking. Rupert is totally healthy, shiny and happy looking and that's the main thing. I WILL steadfastly hold to the fat 1.5/skinny 1.75 (does that make it a 1.666666666666? tee hee) for the next 5 days and see what we can see. The 2.0 definitely seemed too much for him.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I have another riding lesson at 2:30, Harvey was relatively good yesterday, hopefully he'll improve today as well!

Lantus needs consistancy, so try to stick with ONE dose either fat or skinny.
Moonie is very sensitive to those drops skinny or fat ones, so I need to be careful!
That is quite a drop agreed, and I would keep testing, you know some kitties here have been known to do olympic dives!!
You are doing well, and are Totally right--Look At The Whole Cat! Look at the coat, improved activity, demeanor, eating, and playing--The improvements mean a lot, sometimes more than the numbers!
Seeing your cat do old behaviors that he did before Dx'd is a good indicator that he is getting better!

yeah, I get you, I was being facetious. a fat 1.5, sounds to me like a skinny 1.75.... so a 1.6666666. Anyway, he's going to get exactly the same wotever you want to call it! :lol:

Wow, that IS an impresseive dive from Rupert there! I'd go for a +4, just to make sure he's leveling that off a bit, since it's pretty early in the cycle. Great job with actually charting out all the numbers and determining some trends!
