CAN I GIVE PANZER HIS ZOBALINE & MIRALAX WHILE GIVING HIM HIS ZENIQUIN???Panzer got his first dose of Zeniquin today (in a greenie salmon flavored pill pocket. He gobbledit up didn'tknow the pill was in it)@+9.5 AMPS I fed @+8 AMPS fed again at PMPS & just now @+4 PMPS. He hasn't had any side effects so far, I know it's still early so I'm keeping an eye on him as best as I can. He got his tail shut in the front door a little bit either. It didn't shut on him all the way because he yelled out, I checked it & it seems fine. The little brat also got out the back door & ran a little ways, I got him right away & reminded him that he's not allowed outside :rolleyes: so far his BG is still good despite the Zeniquin & the pill pocket. I know that may change as well. He just hit a 71@+4 yay!!! https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB...y-disease-71-4-86-5-93-7.259466/#post-2915332

The recommended dosage for oral administration to dogs and cats is 1.25 mg marbofloxacin per lb of body weight once daily, but the dosage may be safely increased to 2.5 mg/lb.

For the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections, Zeniquin tablets should be given for 2–3 days beyond the cessation of clinical signs for a maximum of 30 days. For the treatment of urinary tract infections, Zeniquin tablets should be administered for at least 10 days. If no improvement is noted within 5 days, the diagnosis should be re-evaluated and a different course of therapy considered.

I don't know for sure, but I spent about 10 minutes googling drug contraindications and couldn't find any between those three...

Do you have the package inserts to read through? I'm sorry I have to get to bed

I am not a vet, but I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t give Miralax or Zobaline with Zeniquin. Neither is a prescription drug and one is just a vitamin. When in doubt, spread it out! Give the Miralax and Zobaline at a different time from the Zeniquin. Also, you can read the paper on the Zeniquin and see of there are any drug interaction precautions.

Here are the drug interaction precautions for Zeniquin:

Drug Interactions
Compounds (e.g., sucralfate, antacids, and mineral supplements) containing divalent and trivalent cations (e.g., iron, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, and zinc) can interfere with the absorption of quinolones which may result in a decrease in product bioavailability. Therefore, the concomitant oral administration of quinolones with foods, supplements, or other preparations containing these compounds should be avoided.

Yes that's what I normally do with the MiraLax & Zobaline separate feeds 24hrs apart so I will do the same with the Zeniquin. Thank you for all of your help. I hope you sleep well :bighug:

You linked 2-16 ! Are you going back to see your posts to find the previous date?

Sorry but I don't know about giving the meds with the Zeniquin

@Chrispooky12
It says 25mg & the vet tech that was getting it ready said it was based on his weight which is 15.11lbs. It's probably a typo I will look on pill finder tomorrow. I gave it to him @ 130pm today & midnight tonight. There are 9 pills left. Yes I've been back & forth on both posts:smuggrin:

I deleted what I wrote about the dose, you are probably right that it's 25 mgs
I googled it and they do come in 25 mgs
@Chrispooky12

Zeniquin is a prescription medication FDA-approved for veterinary use in dogs and cats. Zeniquin is available as 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg film-coated scored tablets. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian.

I just noticed you have a new pic of Panzer, he's adorable, your first one you really couldn't see his face,

Did you see the movie Meet The Parents with Robert De Niro, his cat Jinx knew how to flush the toilet, is that what Panzer was doing in the pic :p
