Jackson purrs while I'm rubbing his one ear to get the blood flowing for his test. He cries when I am about to poke. I often need to poke more than once. Sometimes as much as 8 times or more. Maybe I should try a smaller lancet? We use the One Touch lancets that are 28 gauge currently.
This morning it only took 3 or 4 pokes and he was lashing out at me with his front paw.
I wish there was something I could put on his holey ear to sooth it.

He was getting some exercise this morning, chasing his 1 year old sister up and down the house.
I'm so disappointed in these numbers. The more insulin I give him the higher he goes.
It took 5 pokes and 2 test strips to get this +4.5 test. Then I was preparing the cat's snack and putting the food in their dishes and he jumps up on the counter and in a split second grabs the half a can of Fancy Feast (no can, just the meat) from his bowl and takes it down to the kitchen floor. I yell "No" and as I am picking it up with my bare hands and putting it back in his bowl he was growling at me :(

I tried his other (left) ear and it didn't go so good, but maybe we made we made some progress. He is definately left handed.
Hoping for some blues tonight and alarms that wake me up to see them.
