Last Night:
357 PMPS
290 +4.5
293 +11

I tried Weruva last night and the kitties wouldn't touch it. It was added to (not mixed in) with some of the same FF and Friskies flavors that they had eaten earlier in the day, and they each ate a couple bites of the FF and/or Friskies and refused to eat anymore. At +2.5, I gave J.D. some cypro and a fresh bowl of just Friskies and he ate some of that, and then some more with EVO dry added on top just before bed at +4.

I got up at +10ish, and J.D. got up at +11 this morning, and I tested him and gave him some freeze dried chicken breast. I guess that spurred his appy because he went to the YAZC that is always left out and rarely eaten and he ate some of that. I just heard a kitty eating the dry food, while I was in the loo, and when I came out it was J.D.
When I tested him at +12 for his shot on the couch which is our testing spot, I was wondering why the thigh of my jeans felt wet. He must have peed on the couch (right in the middle between the two cushions :? ) at +11. I should have let him go to the litter box first before testing, I guess.

My arm is feeling better and better and today is definitely house cleaning day, as much as I can do.

J.D. goes for his blood work and urinalysis at +2.5. I am not looking forward to venturing outside on that ice again. I stayed inside all day, yesterday.

I hope everyone has a good day. I hope J.D.'s tests come back fine. I hope I can get a bunch of house work done.

Sending healing vines to all who need them.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332

Hi dyana, I am glad that your arm is feeling better and J.D. has a good appetite today. Not so glad about the pee.. that is a project to clean up...

Be careful when you go out today. Sending prayers for good blood tests and urinalysis results for J.D. Does it take a few days to get those results back? I can't remember.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332

I'm glad J.D. is eating for you. I hope everything goes well with his tests this morning. I'm glad your arm feels better. Be careful on that ice.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332

Morning Dyana,

I am so glad to hear that your arm is feeling better. Enjoy your day off, don't overdo on housework!
Weruva is not a big hit at our house either, seems like it is all shreds, which is no one's favorite here.

Sorry about the couch~

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332

I should get the results back tomorrow morning. They are very fast. I guess the IDEXX people pick up the samples at night and fax the results to the vet in the morning.
J.D. peed in his litter box at +1 and I gave him his "Good Boy"s and added a some treats to his Friskies and he ate some of that happily.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332

MSN Weather says it's 9 degrees outside with a Feels Like of -4 and will be up to -3 when we leave for the vet.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, off to vet

Actually, we have a few more minutes. I thought the appointment was at 8:15am, but I just checked and it's at 8:30am.
J.D. just pooed in the litter box (on the pee pad) and got some more "Good Boy"s and treats. I cleaned up the pee pad and the poos were a little hard, so some more Miralax is called for. He just went in again, and I quickly put down another pee pad. He might think he gets "Good Boy"s and treats just for going in ;), because he did nothing. Now he's back in again.
He just pooed a fine looking poo (yes, more) inside the gravel of the litter box. He got really loud "Good Boy"s for that one.

Okay, I guess it's time now to gather up the good kitty, and get ready to go. Cleats are on.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, off to vet

Morning, Dyana

I'm glad to hear that you're starting to feel better. YAY!!!! I'm also very happy to hear that J.D. is eating more, and I'm still sending you tons of wonderfully excellent appy vibes for him to continue doing so (you need your strength, lil man!).

Good luck at the vet's today, and I look forward to hearing the wonderful news. Please be careful, and drive safely. :YMHUG:

I love celebrating poos with you and JD! Yay for poos or two!

Be safe on your trip to the vet, and good luck too! Feel good little kitty!

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

Blood Pressure Results:

SYS DIA average?
RF Leg:
88 - 73 - 76
72 - 61 - 67
Tail:
190 - 164
120 - 81
131 - 87

The doctor said maybe he is more afraid at the other vet. The first tail reading is a little higher than what we were getting at the other vet.

Anyway, I'm glad to find out that our regular vet hospital can actually do blood pressure tests now, even though the doctor needed the vet tech to run the machine for her.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

I don't know how the normal range for cats. How is J.D.'s BP? what is RF leg stand for ? right femur

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

So glad you are feeling better. I have no idea on the BPs. That is great that the vet hospital can do them. That will be much easier for you. yay for poo! Way to go JD. Have a great day Dyana!

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

Yes. She wanted to try different places to test the BP, and started with the right front (RF) leg. Then did the tail. The other vet just tests on the tail.
She said it was actually kind of low. But, his other tests have always been higher at the other vet. She said not to worry.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

My vetty always tested Mario's tail, too, I think. I remember his tail fur would be all ruffled when we got home.

I'm glad you made it to the vet and back without incident - the ice is really bad right now. Just a couple more days and it will be warm enough to start melting!!!

Have a great day, Dyana....keep resting and healing up!

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

I'm glad you made it to the vet and back safely. Interesting that they test various spots on the cat. When Neko went to the cardio vetty they tested her front leg, and the vet tech did it with me in the room. I wish my regular vetty did BP tests.

Great to see blues on JD this early. Both my kitties like to use the LB before the morning PS too. Neko fusses if I don't let her use it before testing.

Have a great day - stick to light housework to go easy on your arm.

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

That is very interesting on the testing! I hope they are all good results. I'm glad you got to the vet and back safely, and that the regular vet can now do the tests you need. Yay for all the poops, J.D., keep it up! Have a good rest of your day :-D

Re: 02/17 J.D. AMPS 332, +2 224, vet, +3.75 193

I'll bet his BP is lower at your regular vet because he is more familiar with the people and the smells and sounds, etc.

Yay for poo (and thank goodness for pee pads)! :RAHCAT

I'm glad to hear your arm is feeling better. Sending healing vines. Also glad to hear you're still wearing those cleats! :-D

You've got a nice slide going, J.D. Keep up the good work. Sending appy vines, too.

Re: 02/17 J.D. +5.25 101, +7.5 138

I've been doing dishes slowly (there were a lot of them). Dishwasher broke a year ago, so I'm it.
DBF came over and helped out a little. Actually, a lot.

There is a beautiful sun shine outside, and I just had to take J.D. out for a bit of sunshine. I put on my cleats and I carried him (that wasn't easy) over the cement stairs where the chemical infused ice melt is, and then let him walk on the path where it seems to be just rock salt. We were out for a good 20 minutes. So that was nice.

Re: 02/17 J.D. +5.25 101, +7.5 138

I don't think they are used to doing BP tests for regular patients as she brought in this machine with lots of cables attached and said "don't worry, we don't need all these cables". She says it also does EKG? and they use it in the operating room. The vet tech she had with her to run the equipment is the girl who helps with the anesthesia.

Re: 02/17 J.D. +5.25 101, +7.5 138

Hi Dyana,
Good for J.D. having good test results and good litterbox contributions. I don't know anything about blood pressure, but it sounds like lots of the others do.

Good for you for wearing your ice cleats!! Glad your arm is feeling better.

Have a good evening and stay safe and warm with your kitties,

Ella & Rusty

I guess I'm a little worried about the results. The RF leg results should not be so different from the tail. The tests you posted the other day were a lot more consistent than these. I have found that you really need someone who knows what they are doing. At our last vet's office before this one, the vet never could get good readings but she had a vet tech who did a great job

From all his tests the other day, I would have said he needed a very low dose of BP meds. You just don't sent to take any chances at all with high BP.

I would be sure that every time you take him in, they check his BP.

I hope you didn't overdo it today and that you are doing better.

Sending feel better vines to you Dyana. Sorry to hear about your ice fall. If that were an Olympic sport, I feel certain that I could win gold...that's a Florida girl for ya! YAY for poos in the LB (and near it...but definitely for IN it!) Sending feel better vines for J.D., too.

Hi Dyana,
Sending good b/w results prayers to you and J.D.
And some healing vines for your arm too.
