Hi Elise, I was just wondering if Dolly’s infection could be affecting her numbers. It’s really a nasty bacteria that can be hard to treat. Waiting for the delivery, anxious to start her on the meds. I know diabetic kitties often have secondary illnesses. Any thoughts on infections? Thank you.

The infection definitely could be effecting her bg. If it’s successfully treated with it could very possibly help her to go OTJ.

She is at 72@+2 now and this is the second day I can smell insulin when I hug her. Because of a few fur shots long ago, I usually smell her after my husband gives her insulin. Is this common and my nose is more sensitive for some reason? Is this a concern? Thanks Elise.

I would not be concerned. Perhaps a stop was on the syringe ? Based on the bg she got the insulin.
