Good morning, LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) for me today, for sure.

Once again I woke up early and had some extra petting time with Chaos before test/shot time. I found him asleep in the place I usually sit on the couch. It's his favorite sleeping spot, probably because sometimes I don't pay attention and forget to de-fur it before sitting. My cat-furry butt amuses him! :lol:

WCR: Chaos is practicing his ignoring skills today.. I keep calling him but he stays put as if his swivelers are defective. Cat happy dances were seen at food time, and he leapt up on the table for his shot, what a good boy! Purry furry white boy is always happy in the mornings.

So, this is his sixth cycle on the new insulin at 1.25u and I'm not seeing much improvement. Only one blue number so far. and it was a high blue (182). I think we have some room to come down. I'm considering increasing to 1.5u tonight and seeing what that does. What do you think, oh wise ones of LL?

Chaos is adorable! I won't chime in on the dosecrease since google won't let me access the SS at the moment. Have a great day!! :)

Can't access the SS? Oh no... it worked fine for me using the link, so I'm not sure what that means. Privacy is set to 'anyone with the link' so that's not it. Anyone else having trouble?

How old is your current vial or cartrdge of insulin??? It could account for higher numbers---
When was his last dental or does he need one? Could he have a tiny infection like UTI, or any type, as that also can raise BGs?... OR he could need a dose crease.
You are doing a great job, you just havent found the right dose yet...But doses go up & down as you can see, so
start a dosecrease when you will be there all day--OK? Have a Great Caturday!
He's a handsome BOY!!!!!!

It's a brand new vial of insulin, I just started it the other day after thinking my old vial might have pooped out. I think he is infection-free, but could not afford a dental right now, there's just no way. I think it's a matter of the right dosage since I only switched him to all wet LC in Jan.

Barring any surprises this cycle, I think you have room to increase to 1.5u, too.

Did your vet think that his teeth were such that a course of antibiotics might help?

Nope, the vet didn't say anything about giving him antibiotics for his teeth, just that they had tartar and could use a cleaning. Unfortunately, money is an obstacle at this point in time. Just supporting Chaos on unemployment means making sacrifices in other departments. It's a drag, but it's what's going on now.

I'm giving Chaos's ear a break today since I don't see much danger of a hypo. I'll get a +6 check in another hour and post it.

Chaos has 274 at +6. No surprises. Hellooooo, dosecrease. It'll be 1.5u for him tonight.

Good Luck with the dosecrease - I hope it brings Chaos numbers down over all.

Wow- what an icky PMPS- 379! @-) I guess it's a good thing I went with the doscrease. I have given him 1.5u tonight. Easy to measure! I hope this moves him down a little. I'm starting to hate the color yellow.

Thanks for the compliments on my cake. I work hard, considering there is no one here to teach me. I have a dreadful solitary habit of learning everything from books or pictures...or in more recent times, youtube! I am always trying to teach myself something. Today, for example, I got my new instructional bellydance dvd in the mail. I have never done it before, and believe me, it sure looked like I've never done it before!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Wow..talk about goofy. "practice makes proficient" is the best I dare hope for. It's exercise, anyhow.

Now I must wrestle with sicilian sausage and pasta and cheese. Chaos, meanwhile, is chowing down on his dinner.. and guess what? Tomorrow is his BIRTHDAY! :mrgreen:
 
Chaos is certainly a handsome boy, Leila! I have my own little, well, maybe not so little boy laying on my lap with one paw on the computer as I type. And your cake looks very very yummy! Perhaps us folks in PA will get a chance to taste one of your concoctions in August???
I hope the dose crease works on Chaos tonight!
 
Thanks, Deb! Chaos is no lightweight either. He is a long, tall kitty with an extra pound or two on. Spot's quite lovely himself. All our our furbabies, actually, are so beautiful. Never saw a prettier bunch of kitties in my life! So much individuality in their little faces, too. That's one of the things I love about condos: seeing all those kitty faces on the right. cat_pet_icon

I love how other beans' kitties hang out with them at the computer, too. So companionable!

And you know it- I'll bring some beautiful and deeeelicious things with me to PA. I can't tease you all with photos and not pony up, that wouldn't be fair! :mrgreen:

Feel good condo of the day.... adorable picture of Chaos... gorgeous cake pics... happy day! Now, Chaos, hows about we get those numbers down a bit? No more stinkus pinkus?
