Check whenever you feel fit to do so. Some people taper off testing (once a day, to every few days, then once a week). It all depends on what you'd like to do.

Also, remember Mango is still diabetic, he is just diet controlled. You'll still need to be careful what you feed him and of any medicines with sugar in them or steroids. If he starts acting off, check his BG.
When Furball was OTJ, I tested daily for a while and then went to once a week. The earlier you can catch any rise in BG, the easier it is to treat anything.
