Walter’s numbers were in the greens all night. I’m leaving in three hrs for two weeks—someone else will be taking care of him. Do I shoot this morning at the same level or decrease? The person who is taking care of him can watch him today but not during the work week.
 
The question is, is Walter going up or down - this is an important point for your caregiver to do - if he tests and Walter is this low - the same question remains - which direction is Walter headed. Since you're using the AT2 meter you don't have much margin - and Walter is finally getting some good numbers...this is his chance to get going in the right direction - so glad he's out of those blacks and reds all the time! This means he's healing...and it's important that your caregiver gives him some insulin - but the question will be - can they continue to test? Do they have medium and high carb foods on hand. Do they understand what the 'take action' number is on your meter?

I'm just on my way out the door - I'm wondering if @Bron and Sheba (GA) are on? @Sienne and Gabby (GA) ? Anyone else up to help you this morning?

Hi— stalled and the number is the same. I agree about the numbers. I think the plan was to decrease to 1.75. I have the various carb food and JH (caretaker) understands the take action number. However, he works during the week so won’t be around until the evenings.
 
Can you stall again? And get another test? I know you're probably getting ready to go and don't have a lot of time - this delay is going to push Walter's shot time back tonight - just let caregiver know that he'll need to delay tonight - and then back up in 15 minute increments to get back on schedule.

Please add the new test numbers to your SS.
 
You may want to change your SS to say SLGS while you're away - since the caregiver will not be adjusting the dose as per TR - only if he goes too low then there will be a reduction. On SLGS he would have earned a reduction at 90 or below; TR earns a reduction at 50 or below.

Hi—fed him about two minutes ago—my guess is that he’ll now creep up a bit but go back down— that seemed to be the pattern yesterday. I think changing the schedule for the caretaker would have been complicated for him. Geez— this would have to happen just as I’m leaving.
 
The reduced vacation dose is usually given 4 cycles prior to you going g away to deplete the depot. Even if you reduce down to 1.75 you will want to monitor him until you leave. And leave out higher carb food if he should need it.

I would definitely reduce to 1.75 today and glad the CG can monitor today. I would give him a no shot number of 100.

It is better that he runs higher while you are gone since the caregiver is only coming and testing prior to shots during the week.
