I cannot tell you how well my boy is doing. although his ss is ALL over the place hes not as high as he used to be and is obviously feeling amazing. he plays lots, like lots, causes mischief, and does his usual of waking me at 4am to tell me theres a moth,fly,spider..................a noise, draft.you name it! (an excuse for a cuddle i think) hes currently on 4.5 units but I daren't have upped it as doing real long shifts (please see ss) ive popped home when I can. im off in a couple of weeks so will try to up by.25

I gave my vet the ss to look over last week and he rang me yesterday to say he cant believe how well hes done over the past few months. its all thanks to you guys that I absolutely know what im doing. he just leaves me to it knowing ive gained the knowledge here and actually I know more than he does.he prescribes whatever I ask for and just accepts the dose hes on cos he knows im doing the right thing.

my bailey is the best hes been in 2 years and is being a terror again. I love it! I didn't love him breaking my candle I got for xmas, whilst on one of his wild dashes through the flat. ;-)

I just want to say I cant thanku all enough for me getting my boy back!!! xxxx

youre not kidding chris. it was , if im honest 6-10 months where I thought I was losing him. my vet said the same. although the thing that kept the vet from deciding the worst was the fight he gave before sedation....EVERY TIME!! even turning upside down in the crush cage, knowing the vet had tried to trick him the last two times and inject him underneath (my bails isn't stupid ;-) ) he fought and look where we are :D granted some days he eats lots of chicken and felini. (it cost me a fortune but he wont eat any other wet food. ive tried EVERYTHING) but his pee peeing is down to 1-2 times a day and poopying once a day. were back to almost normal barr the pricky ears and injections but ssshhhhh we don't mention that. he doesnt notice! I even do it whilst hes sleeping!

What a wonderful report of how well Bailey's doing. :woot: It always feels so good to get validation from the vetty that you're doing things right. Isn't it great when the playing and mischievousness return? :joyful:

I never thought it would happen again but you honestly wouldn't have a clue theres ANYTHING wrong. diabetes is just abit of a blip here that were both used to. ;-) as long as kidneys etc keep functioning normally and im doing what I can to keep him safe. were all good here!

What a fantastic report on Bailey! :) You are doing a great job by him Anna. He hasn't been an easy case, but it sure makes it all worth while with him playing and getting into mischief. Even with him needing a dose increase, he's still spending about half his time under renal threshold. Maybe he's flatting out a tiny bit?

Hooray! I remember how tough it was in the beginning. I'm so excited to hear how well Bailey is doing. Your vet sounds like a keeper - we all wish ours were that cooperative!

Keep up the good work. Scritches to Bailey. :):cat:

What a great report! :bighug: :bighug:

We have lots of new members now and I hope they all read this! It is so daunting in the beginning.
