First post looking for advice.

After a hard week going from vet to vet we discovered that he has pancreatitis and a urinary (possible injury from whet they took urine) infection besides his diabetes so we started Lypex (pancreatic enzimes) and treatment for his urinary problems we are 3 days in with the Lypex and we are having some really blue numbers like never before and i am kinda getting freaked out. I am doing 1.5 for a few days evern if my vet said 2, but was wondering if i should lower it to 1.25 or 1ui tonight. Will keep the spreadsheet updated. What do you think?

Hi Madalina

Has the vet asked you to feed prescription food for the pancreatitis and UTI? I am no expert but I don't think that's necessary. I'm tagging @tiffmaxee and @Butters & Lyla who have experience with pancreatitis.

Mishu does look like he needs an increase. You've been at 1.5 a week now. You increase by 0.25U. Especially with those low blues you are seeing today, a 0.50U increase may be too much. We increase by 0.25U here so that we don't bypass a good dose. So the next dose would be 1.75U

Hi, I'm sorry that poor Mishu was possibly injured from the urine draw.
Those blue numbers are wonderful. Perhaps a sign that Mishu is feeling better, too? Butters numbers are higher when her pancreatitis symptoms are worse.
I use pretty standard meds to treat Butters' pancreatitis symptoms: cerenia and/or ondansetron for nausea, cyproheptadine for appetite stimulant, and buprenorphine or gabapentin for pain. I haven't used pancreatic enzymes.

Was this the first time he had pancreatitis? Enzymes aren’t generally suggested if early. They are usually needed for EPI. Do you have a copy of labs you could show us? How is she acting? Eating well? Playing? Purring?
