01/27 Blaze PMPS/283, +2/266, +3/252, +4/238

Blaze is unpredictable. There is no pattern with him. When he is high, I give him his usual low carb...but unfortunately I can't predict that he is going to drop that low sometimes. He sometimes clears bounces quickly but the last one took longer. I actually was ready to increase by .25 if I didn't see an improvement. Last night, he ate his mc all throughout the cycle, starting from the preshot food. He is highly sensitive to carbs so his med c is 7%. His low is 4%. His high c food has 9%/10% in it. And when I give it to him he literally sky rockets.
He doesn't respond to food like he should. I know how food should affect him and I know that to avoid these drops, he needs to eat higher carb content. Unfortunately, these drops with him are completely unpredictable and even when he eats his med carb, his sugar still doesn't respond that well. Just trying my best...I wish his pancreas cooperated more.

He is sometimes also stubborn and doesn't wanna eat. Nothing to do with nausea. Just because. He also likes to sleep so at times he just does that. I am home to monitor only the evening cycles because I work during the day...its a challenge for sure

Hi. I hope your day is going well. Why didn’t you take a reduction after the 67 last night? He’s getting a lot of lime lately.

Sorry to keep pestering you but could you switch to a human meter for a few weeks so we can see how he looks? Is it too hard to get enough blood?

Just the heads up...I am hanging by a thread.
I am close to give up.
I know that you are all trying to help and I am extremely appreciative. However I have a lot on my plate right now.
The reason why I didn't reduce this morning after last night's low: I forgot to do it. This morning at 5 AM I was foggy and tired and made a mistake. I went on autopilot and drew 1.25U. When I read this post, I realized the dumb mistake :(. Last night I went to bed late because he was low and getting up 5, 6 hours later is not enough sleep. I have been doing this since August 15th. I am nearing my breaking point I guess. I will reduce tonight.
Yes I am using Abbot human strips with the Alphatrak. I have the tester set to cat reading and use the human strips because they are cheaper. I am close to finishing the coverage for Blaze (it replenishes on June 28th) and I want to keep some money in case of an ER emergency. I live on 1 income, I am a single woman keeping up with all my expenses on my own.
Sometimes I don't test at +3 on the weekend or at night. I know it does help but sometimes I don't, because I fall asleep. In the weekend I get up at 5 AM, do the routine, go back to bed at 5:30 and try to sleep. I set the alarm at 7:10 to get a +2 but sometimes I just can't get up. I am exhausted. Sometimes at night, I don't get a +3 because I fall asleep on the couch. I try to set alarms and most of the times I manage but I am reaching my breaking point.
I will use my human meter starting tonight for a couple of weeks. I just need to update the spreadsheet, not sure how to do that if anyone can help.
During the day I don't test because I work. I leave my house at 7:30 am and I come at 4 pm.
Sorry about venting. I am having a really tough day at school too today. Everyone around is getting covid and I am trying to stay healthy on top of it all.
I will use the human meter tonight. I have a new box of strips. It is the OneTouch.
Sorry everyone

I already changed the Green and Lime Green numbers at the top of the sheet. From tonight's reading on, I will use the human meter OneTouch. I just need the extra line that says "switch to human meter" now and also to remove the top right heading that says "Using Meter Calibrated For Feline Blood"

@Bandit's Mom shouldn't have changed the green and lime numbers, it seems that the world and us sheets are not linked anymore. I hope you can fix. Tonight's AMPS reading of 15.7/283 was done on the Human Meter. Thank you

Hi Paola, hang in there. Maybe 1U will be his dose! :bighug:

I've changed the SS to reflect a temporary switch to a human meter. I have deliberately not changed the header etc. I will do that if you permanently switch meters.
