I am going to shoot but keep an eye on him. He is loosing a lot of weight. He is almost down a pound since Dec 1. He is eating a lot more now. Don't know why.
 
Good job shooting. Nice to see mango back in green.

You can take the 911 down now, if you need it later on you can pop it back up and it will catch folks attention.
 
I am SO embarrassed!! My mind has been on him losing weight and I guess I just lost my mind. I tell my students at school that I had a brain fart!

How many calories is he getting a day?

When was the last time he had blood work?

Any tummy issues?

Hey Leslie, it looks like he is getting 225 calories a day if you are giving him 1.3 oz five times a day. The calorie count on the cat food cans are the Kal. If he weighs 12 lbs so, 232 calories a day is what I am coming up. Is 12 lbs a good weight for him? Or should he be more?

I use this formula:


The cat's ideal weight X 13 + 70
I used 12 lbs. X 13= 156 + 70 + 226.


Gill ask about the last blood work which is a good point. Maybe a vet visit soon to find out why he is losing weight . He is the right age for cats to get hyperthyroidism so I would want to rule that out. My civvie cat started losing and wanting to eat all the time and sure enough, he was hyperthyroidism.
