Good morning, night, evening, day... :)
It's morning here and the streets are covered with snow...
Tıfıl is feeling well but hungry all the time...I am still giving small amounts..

I am very sorry that I couldn't answer your post, I fell asleep on the couch. Tıfıl vomitted water yesterday, not food. I am not giving any medicine for her stomach. Maybe she was trying to vomit an hairball.


Vyktor's bounce has broken I think it is Tifil's turn next...

EDİT: We are in 6th cycle, PMPS 408, what about tomorrow morning at our 7th cylce, should I increase if she doesn't come down?

my cat, Tray sometimes takes a day or two to clear a bounce. It's hard to see but you just need to hold on. I hope Tifil will have better numbers for you today

No need for Tifil to be too jealous Vyktor has bounced again after a night on the blue floor, but just to pink this time and right now he is on the yellow floor. I'm sure Tifil will finish her bounce very soon, then Vyktor will be jealous of the green numbers that she gets, we haven't seen many of those yet.

This is the 5th cycle of her bounce. Bounces can last 6 cycles. I'm betting tomorrow morning will look very different. Patience. :YMHUG:

By the way, I have bad news, there is no fancyfeast in my country anymore :( There isn't any other brands that are on the list too (with low carbs)...
Today I searched everywhere but the result is zero :(
This is the day that we are finished :(
I have only 5 cans left :(

C'mon, Tifil...please clear your bounce for MamaBean!

I'm so sorry you now have a food issue to deal with, too. Hopefully someone more familiar will offer some suggestions that will work for you. :YMHUG:

I made the recipe on Dr.Lisa's site a couple of months ago, but there are some problems...first, chicken rises tıfıl's numbers so I must use only turkey, second, it is imposible to find the vitamins and the extra stuff to put in it in my country :( I mean, it is possible but not in the form that Dr.Lisa suggests.
Example; B vitamin complex, you can find it in the pharmacy but it is not the kind that can be put in the food, it tastes really bad... for example the E vitamin capsules, there are no dry E-vitamin capsules here. the morton's lite salt, we don't have it here :(

But, I will search for it, maybe I can find a cat multivitamin, there is one called "Beaphar Top 10 Cat multivit"
Have you heard of it? I must search if it's good or not, or if it contains sugar.

By the way, this is our 6th cylce, I will test for PMPS after 15 minutes. What if she is still high, at 7th cycle what should I do (tomorrow morning at AMPS) ?

There's not a way to reach Dr. Lisa via PM on the board. You could put a note on the Health board asking for suggestions regarding the vitamins or other supplements. There are a couple of people from Europe who are frequently on Health and Dr. Lisa sometimes stops by. Also, not all vitamins are in powder form. Vitamin E is often an oil.
 
Please, I want to talk about the scenario if this is not a bounce.
Tomorrow morning I will be alone at AMPS because everyone at LL will be asleep at that time. If she is still high, should I increase 0.5, all the numbers were over 300 during 6 cycles?
I have to have an opinion if it is not a bounce and if I have to increase, she had a DKA a couple of weeks ago, I don't want to live the same story again. It costed about 1000dolars I don't have the money and the time to save her from DKA again... :roll:
 
Işıl, I called Purina, who makes Fancy Feast, and she said they do distribute Fancy Feast in Turkey, and that you should ask at your store if they can special order it for you by the case. Alternatively, Purina also makes Friskies and ProPlan, both of which are available in Turkey and are on Binky's list.

Vomiting clear or foamy liquid could be acid tummy, which Mookie also has. I know for him it can be painful and cause his numbers to go higher. I give him a tiny amount of a human antacid or acid reducer once per day. It's called famotidine and is a 10mg tablet which I cut into 4 tiny pieces. I give him only 1 tiny piece each day. I buy this at the store without a prescription, but it was recommended by Mookie's vet.

Randa thank you for calling ff. I talked to nestle aswell, they said that they stopped importing ff because the GMO of the product is not suitable for Turkey's GMO standards. They are importing the gurmet ff but not the classic ff :(
I searched for friskies and I couldn't find it but I will search again. There is purina in Turkey but not ones that are suitable for diabetes :(

As for famotidine, we have the same medicine here, the name is Famodin. I used to give 1/4 of it to tıfıl when she first became DKA. But one vet told me to stop it and I did as he said..I still have it, I can give it now...

I tested for DKA, she is negative...the glucose sugar level was ++++ offcourse :(
 
Isil, it does look like if Tifil does not come down tonight, that there should be an increase. I'm trying to get some more eyes on your condo. It's okay. I or someone will get back to you.
 
Hi Isil. Tifil did get some greens on this dose just a week ago, and just a few days ago. I would not recommend increasing by 0.5. If she's still high in the morning, you can try an increase of 0.25, if you're going to be around to monitor, and have HC and strips, just in case. How does that sound?

On the food. You said they are going to get some of the FF Gourmet varieties in. Some of those are LC, I think.
I know the Gourmet Chicken Feast is now called just Chicken Feast. You can try to find some of these: Classic, Roasted, Flaked, and Chunky.

I hope you have a nice night, and Tifil clears this bounce by morning.
