Max had liquid diarrhea last year after I switched his food to a different brand and the vet took an xray and said he wasn't absorbing any of it. Told me to go right back to the food he was one before and gave me some forti-flora and a steroid shot for the inflammation in his poor colon.
 
I hope that dearrhea clears up quickly! Vines for the vet visit today. Jones Dr. always ran a Senior with a GI panel - she would get the specFL, B12, WCB, RBC, glucose and all the good stuff. She never did an x-ray - she said in never told her much more than she could feel on exam that he was sensitive or not for the pancreatitis. I always knew when he had a flare - it was light brown, flat puddle poo that would clear out the city block. We could tell he went as soon as he did. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I never found his numbers went up so to speak when not feeling good - food was a bigger part of that. I did find he would drop low on occasion if he decided not to eat. He had IBD too, so that complicated things a bit more.

Something Wendy said yesterday hit home with me:

Second possibility, it wasn’t that long ago she was on a 3.0 unit dose, you might have needed to increase because either she wasn’t feeling well or glucose toxicity. Either one of those could have improved and now she needs less insulin.

This is what Ollie and I are going through now. Ollie's p'titis which didn't know she had (no classic symptoms) just lethargic and glucoses rising for no reason, is now resolved and her glucose number and insulin are now going down again kinda rapidly.

Wondering when exactly was the steroid shot? Steroids can throw kitties into diabetes. It is something you will want to avoid now that he is diabetic.
