Yesterday's Condo

I just read the notes about backing off on the bupe from Sienne and Marje in yesterday's condo.
I did call the vet about it, and was confused on when he has the right dose. The vet tech did at first suggest giving him less of a dose TID, and then when I questioned more, she said "or I could bring him in and we can hospitalize him". No thanks. I have to go to work for a bit, and his next dose of bupe is due when I get home. I have been giving it to him every 10 hours, and it will be 10 and 1/2 hours by the time I'm home, maybe even later.
They also told me a week ago that with older cats, they often have a good day after the dental (yesterday) and then the 2nd day (today) is worse, and then they feel better on the third day (tomorrow).
He seems to feel fine, and is hanging out on the back of the couch. We went for a short walk in the freezing cold, and he has been eating pretty good, when the flavor suits him (and I'm not saying it's all low carb food..), and hasn't been pacing as much today.
This is what I think I'll do, but I'll check in to see if there are any comments when I get back, before I do it.
Give him the .3ml of bupe when I get back (at 10 and 1/2 hours since his last dose), and then tonight start to do the bupe dose every 8 hours, but a lesser amount. I just find it hard to stop the pre-filled syringe at a specific dose, when giving it to him, but I'll give it a try.
I called the vet, about poo.
He was having some wettish but formed poo while on the Clindamycin (which he is still on, by the way) the days before the dental. The vet said that formed but wet was okay. I believe, (it could have been Ginger's, but I'm pretty certain it was J.D.'s) that he had a normal poo when we got home from the dental on Monday. Yesterday, there was nothing, and I was concerned that he might be constipated as he kept going in and out and in and out and in and out of the box, and sometimes peeing, but mostly nothing, and I was wondering if he could have Miralax or Lactulose (but did not give him any for fear of diarrehea). Well, he just had a big ole watery poo (lot of water) with a little formed poo at the bottom.
I put in a call to the vet, and am waiting for them to call me back.
Off to tbp, to fill out some health insurance forms, and to find out how much health insurance is going up this year
