Yesterday's condo
I couldn't reply the posts because it was night here and I was in bed...

Tıfıl is eating more then she needs and she is vomitting it. Yesterday she vomitted a hair ball and second time all the food that she ate at her last meal....It was boiled Turkey chest...
Yeterday night while I was sleeping she threw up allthe food that she ate from her auto feeder. But the problem is whenever I walk up I saw her standing on front of the auto feeder waiting for it to open. I want to repeat it, not laying on the floor but standing straight and waiting like crazy all night long!

Her AMPS was 429 today and I feel terrible to see these numbers again :( We are planing to have a baby and meanwhile I am thinking how am I going to take care of tıfıl and give her the attention she needs. My husband is not helping in anything I do with Tıfıl for her diabetes....What if Tıfıl constintly goes DKA because of me :roll:

I hope that it is a break through like Jill said......................:(

Işıl, I don't think anyone is here at this time of night who can suggest solutions for Tıfıl's problems. I'm sorry she's not keeping her food in her tummy and that she stands by the automatic feeder. You and Tıfıl have already gone through so much together, and I know how stressful this is for both of you. You must not think you make her sick or DKA! You are doing everything possible to help her get well.

I will send you a hug and hope that in just a few hours people will come onto the board again who can give you suggestions. :YMHUG:

Yes it is, I am not giving too much at once, I'm giving tiny bits like you said....
She was 209 at +8.25...after 15 minutes it will be PMPS time...I will test and I'm hoping to see low numbers...

Very nice PMPS :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Sometimes when they eat too fast it upsets their tummy and they vomit, Good idea to feed smaller meals.

Yes, she i feeling great today. She even licked my DH's hand :) (It's something impossible)...
But I hope he won't have another bounce :( I shot 97 and I am keeping an eye on her...I will monitor...

I home her vomiting clears up. Sometimes with some kitties if you change their food they will vomit, was the boiled turkey s/thg she had been getting at every meal or not? Whenever I change my cats' foods, if I don't do it slowly (mix some of the old in w/some of the new), about half of them throw up. So if she'd been getting one kind of food pretty regularly and then she ate the boiled turkey, and maybe ate it too fast, that might have made her sick.

Sounds like she is feeling much better now and that's a very good thing! :-D

I think it was because of eating to much...She was constantly begging for food and I didn't break her heart :)
I gave her boiled turkey when ever she begged. I guess it was way too much for her and she throw up..
 
Since boiled turkey isn't a complete food for a cat (it doesn't have the added necessary vitamins, minerals, and nutrients), I would just give her little bits of that as a treat.

I agree with Dyana and Desi about the food: cooked turkey isn't a complete food for a meal and would be better if given as a treat. Also, diabetes makes her hungry, and if given too much food at a time she will eat more than her tummy can digest, just as you've discovered. Tıfıl's high numbers could have been caused by her upset tummy rather than too much or too little insulin.

In your condo yesterday Marje asked if you were feeding her on a schedule and whether some of her high numbers could be from food, what we call "a food spike," which looks like this _˄_ on a chart. Do you think that is possible?
