01.22 Nelli (+8) 44; PMBG 55; (+2.5) 102

I think that is an ECID thing and it depends on why they don't feel good. Sorry that's not much help. I hope you can get a vet appointment soon. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thanks Carla,
A not necessarily so, ECID is very helpful.
Nelli is behaving, acting like she’s feeling better today :bighug:.
Has eaten more instead of a couple T., ate half her brkf. Poo was not diarrhea. :bighug:
Not back 100% though .
She blew at 57 @+3. Going to test again at +4.

Isn’t it a bummer when you know a “ tested number” can’t be annddd, there little ears are tired of pokes .

I hope this day goes your way and Furball feels good and is happy :).

Have them run some blood tests this time. Did you say they did an xray the other day? Tell them you want some answers!
AMEN- need answers!
Am planning on them doing blood work up which will show us wbc & rbc count. Going to go with other if Vet recommends- Spec f and radiographs?
Thanks for the shout out :bighug:

Yay Nelli!!! Good job on eating, little girl :) Keep it up!!!!!!!!! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

There was a recent thread here where kitty had pancreatitis and her numbers went too low for any insulin and they didn't get insulin for a few weeks.

At this point, I would do specfPL (not the snap since that just gives you a positive or negative answer to pancreatitis) and CBC if possible or just WBC to tell if Nelli has an infection. X-rays sound like a good idea although I'm not sure if it's needed (my vet said you can't really tell if the pancreas is inflamed in an x-ray). I'd instead do a poop sample test (can't remember the name) since you suspected worms in her feces.

And of course, please go get some meds for Nelli!!! Bupe, cerenia, ondansetron, subq fluids, etc.!

I NEED TO LEAVE FOR TWO hours. Nelli flat (nadir?), +3, +4 , and +5- confuse me at least; concern me.
She ate about a T. of (what I’ve been told?) of HC (Farmina Quinoa Digestion) one @ +4.

I can at most cut appointment short but not cancel unless you think Nelli is in danger.

We're at the 40 minute mark. Have you tested again? You'd think this late in the cycle the HC should be enough to bring her back up and help her surf.

HC? >Weruva TRU LUXE Meow Me a River 1+ T. @
Leaving out Instinct Chicken recipe in Savory Gravy (carbs?)
Gone...
Home, tested PMPS 55.
Not Shooting.
HC not seeming to be bring # up for very long.
Just went poo... liquid poo, light colored very smelly.
Ohhh, gosh :(
Vet appointment tomorrow. Couldn’t get in today-

Good call not shooting. Maybe get a sample of the runny stool to bring to vet tomorrow? Have them run a fecal and do a blood test for infections and for pancreatitis. Insist!

Edit: Is she up to date on vaccines? If not, with her being an outdoor cat, I'd have them test for those diseases as well.

Thanks. I am-
minus the “sample”- gone into the Litter Genie already. SMEEEELIE!!!

Took pic yesterday of same :-|

Doesn’t feel good yet testing low, low, lowers than recently!?
Diarrhea- drinking plenty of water.
Gizmo did this to me a couple of times. Usually when he was off his food and later when he was dehydrated. It doesn't matter how much water they drink, they can still get dehydrated especially with diareah and/or vomiting.

I don't know enough of Nelli's medical history. I glanced at the labs... have you been feeding low phosphorus food? 09/2018 labs it is high (s/b 4-4.5) and high phos can cause nausea and make them not feel good in general.

Yes even if she’s drinking water; she’s still dehydrated. I would do fluids FOR SURE at the vet whether it’s subq or on the IV.

The vets would know if they actually did tests.... sigh. I’m sorry this is happening to Nelli and you.

I’m also wondering if you want them to do a GI Panel to test her folate, cobalamin, specfPL, and TLI. The blood sample is usually sent to Texas A&M Univ and the specfPL will tell you if she has pancreatitis and the TLI will tell you if she could have exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. The test also will confirm whether she needs B12 shots.

The smelly, light colored stool just raises a red flag...it could be so many things but you could get some answers in the GI Panel but it’s an add-on to regular labs.

If she’s not eating as much as she normally does, the BG can drop with insulin on board and she does have a 3.25u depot so it might take a couple cycles to drain it.

Certain illnesses can cause the BG to run lower. It’s a shot in the dark for any of us to guess.

An x-ray won’t tell you anything about the pancreas but, if you decide you want one, it could show whether the liver or kidneys are enlarged or kidneys have shrunk.

Pls keep us posted. Sending vines.

Muah. Thanks Marje. I promise I will be transparent and give timely updates.

Krystina and Nelli

In addition to what Marje said, I can think of a couple reasons for a cat to go lower if not feeling well. First, Nelli is an outdoor kitty. It’s possible she’s been getting into something higher carb in the neighbourhood that is not longer available. Nelli wouldn’t be the first that happened to. Second possibility, it wasn’t that long ago she was on a 3.0 unit dose, you might have needed to increase because either she wasn’t feeling well or glucose toxicity. Either one of those could have improved and now she needs less insulin.

Paws crossed the vet visit brings more insight.
